This is an excellent reminder that every day should be lived for the Lord! I also like the emphasis of Christmas being on Christ (imagine that) and not the commercial mess it's become.
Thanks for sharing!

Though we celebrate the birth of Christ, in December, it's not that one day, that we should be remembering God's greatest gift to mankind, its everyday that we should be doing so...Faith is a way of life, and a very important part of my life, indeed Jesus is the Light of the World, so we should follow that light in good times and in bad...Thanks for sharing you words with us, using the free verse form.
Blessings!
Warmly,
Victoria

This free verse structure worked really well for this poem. I love how the refrain flips at the end, from starting the stanza with "every day" to ending the stanza with "every day". I really made the point very clearly in a strong way. I loved the message here, too.

You hit the nail right on the head. I can remember this very thing being said to us when we were young and in Sunday School. I suspect your pastor was pointing to a very important truth: Christ didn't only come into the world that first Christmas night in Bethlehem, but He wants to come into our lives today, and every day of the year.

The Christmas season is always difficult to get through, with memories of my wife and the last Christmas we spent together. We were married on New Year's Eve, and she died in 2022 of covid and illness shortly after her January birthday. But, The Lord knows our hearts and continually blesses us. I attended some Pastors' Schools in Indiana. I remember on one occasion, the Head pastor saying it's a trick of satan to only sing Christmas songs in December. They should b part of our everyday praise.

Yes, I enjoy Christmas songs and they should be part of everyday praise like your Pastor stated. Condolences on the passing of your wife. My husband died in April 2022, he had several medical issues. So I know how difficult it is to lose a spouse. Thank you for reading and reviewing. God bless you. Elaine

O am sorry for your loss. Anytime you need a shoulder to cry on (besides The Lord) you are welcome to write. I still cry. Jesus cried. Or write just to say you're well!

Thank you so much for your kind words. Sadness creeps in from time to time but God always takes care of me.Elaine

This poem sounds as if I am singing a hymn due to slot of spiritual wording used in this free verse.
Good job writing this piece.
Sorry I don't got much else to say due to character limitations

Amen! I agree that we can make everyday Christmas if we remember the Lord is our Light and Salvation and we can give love and spread joy just like we do at Christmas. What a great message!

I'm not an overly religious man, but I believe and can see why one would want Christmas every day with the Lord.
This is a well-written piece! Thank you for sharing.

I like the repetition of "Every day is Christmas..." and then ending with "every day," which emphasizes the continuation of 'living in the light.' All your previous verses state how to do that. Nicely written. Blessings. Carol
