Congratulations on your 50th post--that's a significant milestone.
I like the illustration that you chose to go along with your poem, and the words speak of situations most of us have encountered--desperate ones. At those times, we may consider choices we otherwise wouldn't; sometimes, that channeling pays off. We have to dig deep within ourselves at those times.
This should be a good contender, and it is on a topic that's not overdone.
