Congratulations on your hundredth post. There must have been a tremendous amount of work in this piece - especially with the notes. Rhyme and meter are exceptional.

I enjoyed this biographical poem about Bob Dylan, Debbie, and your notes following it. Several old favourites woven into your verses. I found myself humming along at times!

I shall have to rummage around amongst the LPs at home when I get back. Or vinyls, as my children call them!

I enjoyed this greatly! Back in the 70s, I was NOT a Bob Dylan fan. I was a smug know-it-all and thought in all his songs he sounded the same, as if a singer can disguise his voice. I was disappointed in "Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid" and thought "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" was contrived in the movie. Now I like his soundtrack so much awhile back I used one of his songs for my post. I truly enjoy these biographical works and they transport me back through the years!

I always enjoy your works, especially these biographical works.

Thank you so much, Jim! I'm always worried that fatigue will set in and I'm sure it probably has among some. But your support is always appreciated.

The only fatigue I feel from this site is trying to amass those member dollars!

You can say that again!

You really do a great job of introducing a musical artist, while interweaving their titles into the poetry which rhymes excellently. "Blowing in the Wind" was my favorite of all of his compositions.

How did you squeeze so much talent on one page? Considering BOB DYLAN wrote over 500 songs, this is quite a feat. (Sorry to be late to the party. Sundays and Mondays are extremely hard on my eyes at the moment.)
You picked some really great ones but you forgot my favorite. That's okay, because no one ever guesses it because it's "out there." Gotta Serve Somebody. I used it in a flash fiction called Hell's Bells. It's super deep with a cool beat.
Marvelous offering yet again, my friend.
Sending you my best today as always and blessings for your writing endeavors.

Thank you so much, Sally! I'm delighted you enjoyed because you're such a connoisseur of good music and I always love listening to your videos. I actually included Gotta Serve Somebody in my notes. But some of the titles I wanted to include just wouldn't fit into my verse which was very frustrating. Your thoughts are always appreciated. Take care Debbie

Debbie,
A really terrific story you painted of one of the most famous folk singers. Do like how you incorporated his songs into your posting. Your author's notes provided background to Dylan's life. Coincidentally he and I celebrate the same birthday, but different years.
Typically, I do not critique any long poems, but the subject intrigued me to read and review. Your rhyming also was really spot on!!
I also like Dylan's Rock Me Mamma aka Wagon Wheel.
Congrats on your 100th posting!

A great piece that showcases much poetic talent. Writing a biographical poem is not always easy, and having such a good rhyming scheme makes it even more impressive. I love how you incorporated his song and album titles. Cleverly done.

I always enjoy and appreciate your poems which show incredible creativity! Even more, I enjoy the notes you provide about the subject of your poems. Are you a musicologist? Your knowledge of these artists is amazing. Well done---again.

Thank you for such a wonderful review and thoughts! I'm delighted you enjoyed but I'm afraid I'm no musicologist. I just read up and try to get to the essence of the character. My past life involved writing court and parole reports on high risk offenders so my love and nosiness must have started there:)) But thank you so much. You've made my day here. Take care Debbie.

Thank you for covering Dylan in your series! I thought I knew his works but still you always teach me new things. But I really agree with "But fame would be a curse as well, confine this rising star" as he always was developing and changing but his fan base wanted to constrict his talents to just his initial style. As much as I like him, I never thought he was a Nobel Prize winning writer.
Congratulations on your 100th Post!!

Thank you so much, Helen! Yes, you've really picked up on such an important point. Even his name change provoked hostility and those kind of constraints on someone like him obviously really riled and antagonised him because he really hated that black and white approach to life. Your thoughts are always appreciated. Take care Debbie
