I've got two small suggestion -

One is think of something else but not hyenas - a bit crude smile we generally consider it.
Secondly you rearrange your stanzas :
fifth will be fourth and fouth will be fifth, then it will be in real order.
Hope you understand well what I mean to say!

Hi Shelley! I smiled all the way through this and enjoyed it very much. Love the 'puddles of life' phrase.

(Question: Did you do anything special to get the gorgeous picture posted? I'm experimenting with learning how to do it and the site instructions give the required dimensions as 190 pixels by 280 pixels--and yours is squared. Is there something I'm missing?) :-)

Excellent job of writing the happy thoughts that most of us experience and take for granted. I have a friend that says "why don't you ever write anything happy" so I understand the challenge. I may take this challenge also today.

I really liked the format and style of this poem. It, in inself, seemed "happy".

I particularily like this part because if I could get some rain where I live, I would dance in the real puddles:
happy thoughts
of cool refreshing rain
on a hot summer day
washing over your body
as you dance
in the puddles
of life

everyone needs happy thoughts...especially me I lost my friend to cancer yesterday...she was a fighter and she always had happy thoughts even on her bad days...thanks for sharing this with me
