She -was an imaginary friend, for if she hadn't been I would have had no friends at all. Sociability is not a forte of mine unless its with a pen, and even then I can get crusty.

Ahhh, so that is it... friends are often such good connections...
Olives, well that is not all we have here... We get our huge bottles of fresh olive oil from a local "farm" as well as veggies, etc. in season. We get fresh fish from the nearby sea... and of course fabulous wine...
Spain is rather amazing...

Friendship is a warm balance that both have. There are no real rules. Say what you want (within reason). Dress how you want (within reason). But once you cross that line to intimacy. All bets are off. This was a poem that will probably make everyone think about something that happened in their life. Great poem. Gretchen

All relationships go through their up and down moments. You have written about a happening between friends wherein the speaker is hoping the pre-involvement relationship has not been damaged. This is a thought-provoking scenario regarding what-ifs in an unknown future. Best wishes in the contest!

and it never happened, save my mind. Friends were few and far between and mostly teammates not gals. It all worked out eventually. Thank you.

In the beginning, there is always uncertain times. Two people have to figure how to resolve their differences and knit there lives together in such a way the they are almost as one. It is a good thing when friendship turns to unconditional love.

Unconditional love - may be absent in the world today. Marriages are passe, and if not last what??? seven years I think. The new generation is have it my way or hit the highway. I think that is reverting to how women were seen before they became employed.
