I actually love that image even though she is so sad. Your true story flash cleverly reflects that sadness and contrast from the days when there was so much activity, noise and life. I like your reference to that once longed for silence now over-saturating the present. This gives the impression that there is simply no opportunity for that bustle of life to return at the moment.
