Thanks for the poem and the notes. The poem is a clever mix of biography and allusion to a number of his many, many poems and all in well structured abab iambic tetrameter - quite an accomplishment!

I need little introduction to Frost. I studied him briefly at university, focusing on 'Mending Wall' as I remember, but didn't really appreciate him at that time. I came back to enjoy his verse later in life and especially after I started writing myself and I have even modeled a couple of my own poems on his.

Nice tribute and useful information.

Steve

I like your poem about Robert Frost- what an excellent write indeed- I admire your ability and your talent - using rhyme and not free verse- much more difficult to write- but so much more enjoyable to read- incorporating his road less traveled a wonderful touch - my favorite- thank you for a job well done!! Hello, Debbie!
Far more deserving of five stars, but, sadly, I am without...
Robert Frost is one of my all-time favorite poets. I so appreciate his use of local speech and the speech of the common man.
I taught high school English for years; your portrait of Robert Frost would be a wonderful project for students to construct a poem of their favorite poet... (How I wish I was still teaching!)
Well-crafted!

Thank you for sharing!

Hi Debbie, thank you so much for sharing this beautiful poem inspired by and about a truly talented poet, Robert Frost. I wish I had a six for you as this so obviously deserves, but I have none. Thank you so much again. What a joy to read. Ulla:)

You have written wonderfully about one of my favorite poets in this poem... And then, to cap it off with a favorite poem recited -- I am so glad I visited FS tonight!

The poet is one of my favorites. You did well to celebrate his subject matter, style and origin of his works. I appreciated your notes, especially the one about 'Fire and Ice'. I agree with Kennedy's quote.

I enjoyed reading this verse and the extended translations.

The flow is smooth...
The rhymes unforced...
The timbre just right.

The imagery painted, drew me in from the first word to the last.

Thank you for this offering.

Debbie,

I was entranced by your poem and how you walked us through the life of Robert Frost. My husband had the honor of hearing Frost read his poems to his high school English class. Frost had an eye, an ear, and an innate inner sense of what it is to be a human responding to the world around him. Great job.

LOL My husband is not at all literary. But he did enjoy Frost?as long as he didn't have to analyze the poems.

Hello Debbie,
This is a marvelous poem of Robert Frost and his poetry. When I contemplate
Frost's poetry, I imagine sitting with him in front of a warm fireplace on a chilly autumn evening and he says, "A fascinating thought occurred to me today as I was walking down a path in the woods. I came upon a fork in the road and..."
Frost is a storyteller who happens to also be a gifted poet.

The Frost Library is located at Amherst College where he taught, off and on, over many decades. Though born in California, I find it interesting that he wound up at Amherst, the home of Emily Dickinson (1830-1886). Two of America's greatest poets in one small New England Town.

Loved you poem with exact rhymes, the ballad form of alternating 8/6 syllables lines, and the iambic meter Frost often used.

Well done.
Best wishes.
Robert
