Oh, thank you so much, Loren..They are delicious. I keep them in the fridge and they are as fresh and sweet as on the day I got them. The green colour is what they look like..Ulla,:)))

That was a lovely gesture. You have a thoughtful neighbor and I'm glad you shared this little story with is. When you talk about how beautiful the area where you live is, it make me wish I was able to travel to all these places. My own area is beautiful too, but probably in a different way. Friendship is so special. I am touched too when other show me they care by doing something like your neighbor did.

This used to be quite common in our rural neighborhood, but today we barely know our neighbors, let alone exchanging fruits and vegetables. I don't know how to bring back the good old days.

It just goes to show that engagement is the path to relationships, and relationships are the path to gifts of the spirit, as well as the land. We used to have a bartlett pear tree in our yard in New York and I used to love those pears. But it was full of yellow jacket wasps a lot too....estory

You did a good job with the story, Ulla. The descriptive detail is very good, and the Spanish dialogue adds to it very well. It is like we are there, sharing in this experience as you are taking a walk with your dog and enjoying the sites you see.

The pears sound amazing and to see them ripened in their natural environment is priceless. It sounds like you didn't know your neighbors owned this land. It was a lovely gesture to give you the bag of lovely pears, and I can understand how you would appreciate it so much. It isn't the norm these days, but from all you have written, you live in a lovely place where people care and interact with one another. Thanks for sharing it.

Thank you so very much Pam. Natalia's gesture was such a lovely surprise. I'm still enjoying using a pear with my meal every day. I keep them in my fridge so they won't go off. They add such sweetness with my veg and salad. Ullaxx
