There are so many perspectives about everything in life and rarely does anyone see anything exactly like those around them. And if they did, it sure would make for a dull world. Astronomical amounts for many: chump change of nickels and dimes to others. But yesterday's truth, may only be a twisted fabrication for tomorrow. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed your story about poker. I never learned to play, but my late husband loved the game. He played with the neighbors on Friday nights while all of the wives watched Dallas! Well written and fun to read!

Sarah, thank you for the six-star rating. My games were not as exciting as you playing bridge with Omar! That was cool. Terry.

I enjoyed all your little poker vignettes. It was told with wit and humor, the best way to tell 'em. Particularly the last one, with the check getting laundered and not exactly replaced. But that's poker. I had the good fortune to get to play in some great Texas hold em games with my cousins in New York on Christmas. That was the Irish side of my family, and I always my cousin's husband a bottle of Jamison's and we drank shots with beer chasers and had a great game of Texas stud poker, $20 to enter, two thirds of the pot going to the winner, one third to runner up. Nothing wild. Bluffs, a lot crazy low hands. estory

Those are great stories, fun and enjoyable. I especially liked how you weave the song into each one of them. Very creative and nicely done. I loved the movie the gambler with Kenny Rogers and the song. Thank you for sharing.

An interesting way to promote the contest. Those were fun and enjoyable stories, Terry. I like how you weaved the song into each one of them. We used to hold monthly poker games at our house, playing the regular games of Texas Hold'Em and five card draw. We also played one called 'Follow the Queen' and another called 'Spit in the Ocean.' It's been years though since we've played.
It figures the guys would all blame Sarah considering she probably washed, dried, folded, and put away said clothes. Funny story: my husband left his ipod in his pocket one time. That ipod probably cost more than that check. Anyway, he was not happy with me though I pointed out that I had washed, dried, folded, and put away his jeans. Since I did all these other things, I would not be checking pockets. Ever. If he didn't like that arrangement, he could wash his own clothes. And he's been washing his own clothes ever since that day.
Thanks for sharing, Terry.

Those are good stories, Terry. I'm a low roller, also. When I was younger, a few of us guys at work would go up to northern Maine on an ice fishing trip. We would play Texas Hold'em for small stakes. It was great fun.

Paul, thank you for reading. It is fun, but I am not much of a gambler. Terry.

Terry.

Though I am somewhat familiar with poker, I have no stories to tell.
Your stories on the other hand had me chuckling from one to the other.

I liked how you interspersed lines from the Gambler at the end of each story.
Now all I have to do is find a way to get this tune out of my head!

Cheers to a winning hand...
John

Okay I must admit that I'm not good at playing poker, so I have no idea about the rule and regulations. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Well, those were certainly interesting, varied but with that common theme running through. It kind of reminds me of Tale from the Crypt. A series of short tales with a common horror theme. We don't see this type of posting on the site. Great idea. And she was right, strip poker can take too long.

These are some really fun poker stories. It's amazing that a poker game could lead to renting an entire floor in a building. Good work on a really great game on your part. Thanks for the fun read.
