If I could offer some constructive criticism, without the benefit of the image and the author's note, the meaning of the poem would have been less clear, and if you intend to revisit this piece at some point, I would try to rework it in such a way that these addendums would not be necessary. Yes, I look forward to when the futures emerge and all races are one! There is too much division between races and there is a future that will emerge when the racism that divides this country goes away.

Peculiar to me is how racism begins. I knew not the kids I played with before age twelve were "black." Then I went to high school and discovered blacks were different, and not to be associated with. Still, playing basketball, I decided to forgo their advice.
