What a cute, funny little poem! I am amused by the thought of a guinea pig chewing cage bars to demand treats. I liked your rhyme scheme, as well. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

You had me by the line "furry round potatoes". That is a hysterical description of a guinea pig! I don't have guinea pigs, but I have demanding cats, who also have various idiosyncrasies to get my attention!
My only suggestion is not to put the first line bolded. Not really paying attention, I read it as a title, and then later wondered why that stanza only had three lines. No biggie.

Do they get along? I always thought cats were the natural enemies of little furry creatures like guinea pigs?

My daughter had one of those noisy varmints! She evenpotty trained him like my son did his rabbit. They are sure creatures of habit.constantly chewing to keep there teeth wore down.

Yes, for pets you have to keep the treats coming. My cats have to have their treats at a certain time every day. Recently I made the mistake of giving them Temptations treats. Neither cat would have any of them. Now it's Party Mix all the way. Your little darlings are so cute. If they give you a look like the guinea pig in the picture, how could you not give them treats. Your poem colorfully describes their routine and expectations. That's a funny noise they make. judi

The money I spend on guinea pig treats is ridiculous. I give my cats half a can of Fancy Feast for a treat. Thanks for reading and enjoying. Elaine
