Hi Dolly, Thank you so much. I'm so glad you liked my wee flash. I had fun writing it. Indeed, what happened to Hannah? One thing is certain. She dodged the law. Ulla xcx

Intriguing and enigmatic piece. Really interesting twist at the end. All expressed so succinctly and in such detail, despite its brevity. I particularly like the pork on the fork!

Is Hannah really dead or is she pretending to be dead to avoid the police? I wouldn't trust it was the police either. These days you never know. I see no errors and find the story very interesting. I hope you do well in the contest. =} Rox

This well written story leaves me wondering what might have caused Hannah to pass on so suddenly. Did I miss something. She sounded like she didn't have a lot of people in her life, but she couldn't bury herself.

Thank you so much, Beth. Maybe she didn't pass on. Maybe she faked her own death? There are various possibilities. Lol..Ulla:)))

Hi Ulla,

You sure like to stir people up. You create a short story and leave everyone with this lively mystery. Who was in the house... who wasn't? Who didn't want to be found?

Such fun.

Good luck in the contest, Dear Friend!
Rhonda

Hi Rhonda, so good to seeing you. You're not wrong. I loved writing this little story leaving it open-ended. There could be any number of explanations. Thank you so much. Ulla:)))

Excellent entry for the Another 200 word flash fiction contest. You told a complete story in 200 words. That's not easy. I like, Hannah and im sorry she died but it was a good twist.

Well done. Good luck in the contest.

Okay, who buried Hannah? Exactly what went on here? I have so many questions about this contest entry. I'm not sure there's a real solution. It's probably just me. Thank you for sharing this with us and good luck with the contest.

"Who's there?" She called out behind the closed door. (lower case 's' on 'she')

Well, the short answer is that no-one knows. But I have a feeling, Hannah might do. Faking her own death? Who knows. Thanks a lot. Ulla:)))

A lot of mystery and questions for the reader...

It seems as if grumpy Hannah was eating alone, yet someone took her life. Or did they? Maybe she buried someone and disappeared.... Great story to leave the reader thinking....

Hugs, Carol

Thank you so much, Carol. I'm inclined to think the latter. I think she faked her own death. Ulla xx

This is an interesting twist on the warrant knock stories; you might have to consider that the life in the balance might be your own. Had this woman opened the door and let this guy get arrested, she might have saved her own life. I like the stark ending. The dialogue is tense, as it should be, nice and realistic. The interuption at the beginning was nicely done too. estory

Thank you so much, estory. I love all the interpretations I'm receiving. I'm inclined to think she faked her own death, having something major thing to hide. But who knows? Ulla:)))

This is an excellent 200-word, Ulla. She lied to the police for the man that killed her. You never know what could be hidden in someone's personality. I loved this one! Best, JohnC
