A lovely poem. The oceans are like another planet, in some ways so alien. You gave it a feeling of life and delight and mystery. I had to Google oarfish and got this...pelagic lampriform fish ....so then I had to look up those words too, haha. Thanks for the beautiful imagery...and the science lesson. :-). Julie

Hi Elaine,
Wouldn't it be terrific to be a fish, swimming in the sea, exploring sunken wrecks, finding treasure chests of Spanish gold and jewels? But we must thrive where we're placed, adapting to our surroundings. We can't live in the ocean, and fish can't live on land.
Nice presentation of your poem, highlighting the oarfish.
I especially like the alliteration of,
"wiggle my way" and "reclusive I remain"
