lol an interesting and thought-provoking poem

a couple suggestions-
one - maybe try breaking the lines and stanzas into smaller parts?
two - maybe try a black background with a whitish font?

just a couple thoughts for you to kick around

thank you for sharing

A thoughtful poem considering many aspects of the word cry and its different connotations from infancy through to age. Thought-provoking too. The grief of this stanza is superb.
"Baying in keen pursuit of shadows and shades.
You were my shadow, my constant companion.
Now you are a ghost, a portrait in silhouette.
A dark shape and mere outline
of someone I loved in the light.
Bringing forth nothing out of the ground
in the garden of forget-me-nots and regrets."
Wendy
Typo: "a babies heartbeat" should be "a baby's heartbeat"

Interesting take on the fine art of the crybaby. Shakespeare had a love affair with the word cry.

The sweet line:
Now you are a ghost, a portrait in silhouette.
A dark shape and mere outline

Nice work.

This is pretty strong poem. It seems to speak of loss. The line that seemed to suggest it was a young person or relative that may have passed away or changed was: You were my shadow, my constant companion.
I thought this stanza was strong:
You were the 'cry of my heart!'
like a lion roaring, or a whisper outside of noise.
A sound like an exquisite whistle
to make all other sounds silent
like listening to a babies heartbeat in the womb.
A beating heart heard over and above
the harsh cries of magpies outside.
Thank you for sharing.
