Funny, I am in possession of a large orange colored tabby, named Cheddar. I would love to accuse him of the crime and have him locked away for a while. Unfortunately the women in my family would quickly bail him out.

Monty has a litter name named, A.J. They are pretty much my husband's cats. I love them, but I'm more of a dog person. I am absolutely positive that most of the things my dog gets blamed for is caused by the cats. REALLY!!!! He thinks his cats are perfect. They are far from it.

The only thing cats do perfectly is to annoy people with their impudence.

Alas. Poor Freddy. Just goes to show there can't always been harmony among diverse populations. Sometimes, I suppose hate is instinctual. Thanks for sparing the gory details. The picture is adorable, never thought I'd find a lizard cute.

Geckos are cute. They don't belong in a house. Thank you for the kind review.

This is very amusing and sweet. Freddy got a name and suddenly became public enemy number one according to Monty. It is certainly an all time best story.

I think you should be cautious. Obviously there is a killer lurking in your midst.

I like your crime theory and the conclusion that it was a hate crime.

Although you only have circumstantial evidence, I would keep a close eye on Monty.

I won't let Monty out of my sight. He's attempting to butter me up by cuddling with me at night. I think it's a trick.

I am truly sorry for your loss. However, it is a very funny story. Those of us who have, or my case, had cats, completely understand what probably happened. But the dachshund could still be a suspect. Monty should be assumed innocent, until proven guilty. Good job. Terry.

Harley is caged at night, so he's innocent. Unless he's figured out how to get out and put himself back in. HMMM, will have to keep an eye on that dog. Monty is the most likely suspect. LOL Thank you for the kind review.

Hello Barbara,
A humorous story of the untimely demise of Freddy the Gecko.
Too bad you couldn't catch him to put him outside, but they are a bit elusive.
The story sounds like the introduction to an old police show called Dragnet.
Monty could still be in trouble though. Unlike mice, geckos are well liked and hate crimes are serious business.
Best wishes to all, Monty included.
Robert

LOL! Is this true? I had to scroll down to see if this was a contest writing. I loved the way you wrote this. Did you know they are shooting geckos' cousins? I can't remember the name of these animals, but they looked like geckos and grow as big as cats.

I am sure you were watching everything you touched while you knew this little creature was in your house, and that it was a relief to find his body. Thank you for sharing Freddy's story.

Thank you for the kind review. I don't dislike geckos, but I certainly wasn't happy he was in the house.

I am sorry about Freddy .Monty be the prime suspect no doubt. Though you tried to keep him safe from the dachshund ,Monty could have chased him....
i enjoyed reading this.

Thank you for the kind review. Harley is caged during the night, so he wasn't free to get the gecko. It had to be Monty.

Barbara,
Your last line made me lol!
What a fantastic story. I had a chameleon once when I was really young and cried at his passing.
Great story, Barbara.
Good luck!
Blessings,
Cindy
