Yvonne, you have done a stellar job on the crafting of the Ottava Rima. The end rhyme choices were exquisite and creative. I loved the flow, the story, and the feeling of being in the storm. Well done!!

This poem is exceptional in every respect--a challenging form skillfully following the standards and vividly descriptive, conveying a message about two sides of nature battling it out--the forest and the storm.

Love the first verse rhymes in your Ottava Rima poem, Yvonne (canopies/profanities/vanities) good work. Great descriptions of a thunderstorm shattering the peace of all. Well written,
cheers,
valda

This is very powerful. Your descriptions are so vivid. The wind howling
profanities is excellent. Your words convey all the action going on, such as rumbling and trembling of the thunder. After all the turbulence, there is a sense of calm in the third stanza. The storm is over, and "nature's battle has been won." The birds and other creatures can now rest. Great work with the Ottava form. Very stunning. judi

Wow, your words definitely captured the storm, damommy. I was actually feeling wet and chilled as I read this. It was a great picture. Well done and greatly enjoyed.

The difficulties are mainly tied up in the rhyme scheme, and this looks deceptively simple to write, but it easy to become entangled in its complexity. You have done well with this, painting an excellent picture.

Mother Nature at it's finest. Thank you for sharing this poem. You used a lot of strong verbs to show how fierce Mother Nature can be. I had fun reading this poem because of the flow and rhymes.

Well done, Yvonne. You did a wonderful job with your Octavia Rima. It had to take some deep thinking to come up with these three Octavia Rima's. Love the picture as well. Nancy:)

Yvonne,

YUMMMMMY! From the first line, I could see this was going to be something different than most of the posts I open up. The lines were flowing into one another like syrup, so smooth and sweet. But, add to that, the creativity of the word play! It was EXCEPTIONAL!

I really enjoyed it - I appreciated the craziness of the storm being so beautifully described - and then the quiet afterward. The triumphant forest. Loved it!
