Carol,

Yup. No marriage that I ever heard of or brushed up against is perfect. But there are two people making the best of it on a daily basis. They don't allow one or two things to color everything - they see it all. Thanks - so sweet!

I'm glad you enjoyed this one. I wanted people to see that it's not all wine and roses, you have to work at making it hold together. Smiles, Carol

In my drinking days, I'm sure Elaine had her thoughts about my weaknesses, so when I think of the day God told me to cease all the drinking, gambling, smoking, I stopped! Two days before baptism, in Him I could, in Him I would survive, my kids, now mums and wives themselves never saw me drunk or let them down, thanks be to God, she never left me. Beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy,

My dear Roy, I knew we had more of a connection than just FS. Your life story has the same problems and finding the Lord as Mike did. I believe with all my heart that God gave me that task and your sweet wife did the same. We all received blessings just in different ways. Thank you so much for the kind review and the stars are meant to shine for all the love we were lucky enough to share. Smiles, Carol

Great story, well written. You've really played with our emotions here. Going back for the pillow and finding the letter and gift was a great touch. Thanks for sharing. Blessings. Carol

Good morning, Carol... How awesome are you this fine day!!! the story wasn't about us but the foundation of second chances certainly was. I was thinking about how my life would be so different if I hadn't taken the chance. The nay-sayers said Mike would never change, but he did when given the chance. It doesn't always work but in our case it gave us more than either of us ever expected. Thanks for the lovely review and the shiny stars. Smiles, Carol

Good morning! I'm well, thanks, and I hope you are also. I'm glad the second chance worked out well for you and Mike. Have a happy day! Carol

An emotion packed story filled with poignant words- the finding of the card under her pillow- a divine intervention- all elements that work together to advance the theme and tone of the piece. A thought-provoking write. Nicely done.

Thank you Sharon... The story is fictional but the foundation came from my husband's true story. He was a careless man before we became one... the nay-sayers said I shouldn't take a chance. But I did! I gave him a second chance at life and he gave me a love affair to last a lifetime. I miss him dearly. Smiles and hugs, Carol

This is so beautiful, Carol. I nearly had to grab a hanky. The story is very sad at the beginning, but the ending helps us see that Missy chose to stick by Jacob, and make him a better man. Very well written.

Thanks, Judy... After some comments from friends, I got to thinking about Mike and myself. If I had listened to the nay-sayers and turned away from him instead of giving him a second chance in life... Look what we both would have missed out on. I was so blessed. Smiles, Carol

I figured it was really your story, Carol. You were very brave to stick with him, but obviously you had what it took to get him straightened around. You were both blessed.

Aww, of course she stayed and forgave. Who wouldn't after reading a love letter like that. Men can be so thoughtless at times, but it doesn't mean they don't love us with all they have. Women are that much stronger, we have to be to put up with their naughty ways! lol. Well done, Carol, this is a lovely story. :) Sandra xxx

Thanks, Sandra...the foundation of the story came when I wondered how different my life would have been if I had listened to the nay-sayers and never given Mike a second chance in life...We both would have missed out on so much. I am thankful my heart said to leap. smiles, Carol

Perhaps if more people gave second chances, more lives wouldn't be ruined. I loved this story, and I'm glad you and Mike were happy. xxx

Me too! I missed your story this morning...I know moving put a crimp in the writing business but I wanted you to know I was looking forward to it. Just posted another chapter to Deception... things are going to really get messy I think. Smiles, Carol

I'm a sucker for romance, but this guy chose bowling and getting drunk over the promised anniversary. I am not sure this letter makes it go away. Actions speak louder than empty words.

I'm not sure either... but the foundation of the story actually came from me wondering how different my life might have ended if I hadn't given Mike a second chance in life... He actually came through with flying colors but I wouldn't have known that if I had listen to everyone else instead of my heart. Smiles, Carol

A new week opens up a new stash that allows fine writing to be rewarded again. I just wish there were enough to go around to all the outstanding reads that you post. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!

My sweet friend, you are so kind. You lift my spirits and reward me with your awesome encouragement and smile. I appreciate the shiny stars, but your praise means so much to me. Thank you as always...

Trying to write an home break in where an elderly lady is being attacked... I'm not getting to far... I can envision the struggle but not the words. any suggestions?

Have an awesome day and hope you are feeling better too.

    Smiles and hugs, Carol

Nope no suggestions, since I don't attack elderly ladies, and my vocabulary of curse words are far inferior to the granny set. ((Hugs))

I should have known you'd have a salty piece of rubbish to hand me... As if the "granny set" hadn't heard your colorful words before... a few Mike used occasionally are still burning my ears. LOL

Six stars for you. When writing makes me emotional, I have to give it six stars. This story reminds me about God's forgiveness and how we are expected to forgive others. Reminds me that none of us are perfect and that we all make mistakes, but also, we are all worthy of forgiveness. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story. Hugs and blessings to you.

The foundation of this story came to me as I was thinking what if.... what if I hadn't given Mike a chance to show me he could be a different person... what if we'd not shared the life we did... what if I'd remained alone instead of basking in his love... Second chances erased all those what ifs and I was certainly rewarded. Smiles, Carol

I wondered if it had something to do with that! :-) It's so awesome how forgiveness is good for the person doing the forgiving. It is so healing and has so many benefits.

Your story starts out so sadly but finishes on a happy note. So very well written. Sounds like that she has given her husband a lot of chances and now will do so again, let's hope he changes his way of life.

I based the story loosely on the fact that if I had not given Mike a chance to prove he could treat me differently than he did others... I never would have known such a perfect love. Second chances are worth it! Smiles, Carol
