Well, Barbara, the narrator spreads the word that the missing person was last seen at the water edge. What does that tell you? Thanks for the review. :)))

Great Job, Ulla. It does leave us, your readers, pondering. Who was this person? What is the story behind their mysterious disappearance? Was it suicide? For a short piece, a really short piece, this one packs some punch. I think you created a great mysterious feeling with those opening lines and then it got progressively darker. You make that accusation about talking too much. That this person was not well liked. And then that bit about spreading the rumor that he/she was last seen at the water's edge, implying a drowning, a murder. Nice job bringing up that suspense and creating that progressively darker, unsettling feel. estory
