The loss of mother is like no other loss we experience...and I can relate to seeing mother's face and hearing her voice in most unexpected places. Places she enjoyed being mostly. Thanks for sharing.

This is a very beautiful Joseph's Star poem you have penned for the potlatch poetry club. You used very good descriptive, but very sad words too. Very lovely imagery from the art work you chose. This touches my heart in a big way! Beautiful in its simplicity, the poem resonates with me so much it's scary. My mother passed away over eight years ago and every day I think of her and miss her terribly. So, I can relate to you, my friend. I love the artwork which goes along so well with the seagull as it glides to bring joy to your mother's face, as you remember it so many years ago like it was yesterday. The last two words of this poem say it all to me, "Memories stay." and as long as they do, you and I will cherish our mother's lives as they made life worth living. So here's to memories and hoping they will always stay! Wonderful poem and heartfelt sentiment, what a winning combination!

Thank you so much for your wonderful, heartfelt review. I am so happy that it resonated with you as well as well as humbled by your sentiment. I always feel her with me. I only wish I could turn back time. That being said I am truly grateful to have had her until she turned 85. Thank you again Jesse.

You are very welcome, my newfound friend. We share the joy of memories, along with the grief of losing our mothers, and so we will always be bonded within the Fan Story site as kindred spirits.
Turning back time is a special wish of mine, as well. Gratitude is a wonderful thing to have and share with each other while our mothers were still alive and a part of our lives.

A very vulnerable and bittersweet piece- I applaud you for being able to put yourself out there like this as well as being able to frame the way you feel so beautifully.
I particularly love "Your face radiates such joy/ On this warm and sunny day" because it creates this image of your mother as the sun shining down on you and giving you comfort.
Very lovely! It's a shame that you had to suffer such a great loss but I'm glad that you have memories to look back on to soothe that ache. Take care!
