I love the title. although, tt'd be hard to say five times fast, lol. What an adorable picture. I can see the love she has for the dog and the dog for her. Your video is perfect for this poem.

Hi Sally,
I'm just wondering why you used "surveil" instead of "survey".
Your poem, especially that last line, reminded me of the 2005 romance movie, "Must Love Dogs", starring one of my favorite actresses, Diane Lane. Terrific movie! Have you seen it?

    Thank you for the lovely review and kind compliments, dear Kimbob. No, I have not seen the dog lover's movie. I haven't been to a theatre in over ten years. I watched a wonderful movie at home this Christmas, and it was riveting. "Darkest Hour" with Gary Oldham. Get it if you like war history. Surprisingly, it was pretty clean. Your alliterative title lets the reader know there is going to be a humorous tone in this poem. Your use of personification adds to the comedic image. Delightfully written.

Of course, in my opinion the entire world should be dog friendly and every child need a dog. LOL I do realize not everybody agrees with me. I enjoyed reading your contest entry and wish you the best of luck.

What's the name of this persnickety pooch? He is adorable! And your granddaughter is, too. I love her name. Very well crafted short poem that says volumes. Pets and children - perfect combination.

    Thank you so much for the wonderful review and kind comments. Yeager is my grandchildren's dog and comes to visit when they do. Sophia is the youngest and dotes on him. Yeager is a Bichon Frise. He loves me, too, and weeks out my lap. :))
