I enjoyed reading your contest entry. It's the only one I've read for this contest, but I really liked the story and your told it very well. I am wondering what will happen to Thor though. He needs to control that temper. LOL Good luck.

Thank you so much, Barbara. He never will, will he? Every time we have thunder, he is swinging his hammer in anger. Hehe. Ulla:)))

I think you have a lineup of interesting characters in this myth, Ulla. The storyline I consider too, to be a good one. My only reservation would be the ending being a little too abrupt as if the story should be lengthened, what do you think? Good luck, Giddyð???

Thank you so much, Giddy. I'm making no excuses, but I wrote this at the spur of the moment and hour before the deadline. It just came to me. I've always loved that legend, and when thunder rumbles I always say: 'Oh Thor is angry again.' Thanks again. Ulla xxx

ULLA:

What a great lesson in Norse mythology. It is very tough
for parents when one of their children start getting out
of control. I suppose it is nice to know it even happened
to the Norse gods. Good luck in the contest.

When I read this story years ago about Thor dressing up like a woman I was laughing all the way through it. I remember Balder being in it, but not Loki. It may have been told a dozen ways.

You've done some good studying. Some of your concepts and thoughts fit in nicely with the series I've been reading about Loki by C. Gokel I Bring the Fire Part 1 Wolves. The reader will be able to get a sample of the characters and some of their relationship situation, by reading this. You may arouse curiosity in them. Well done.

Ulla,

It's funny, we don't see you posting too much right now beyond your family saga -- but I am always highly entertained and pleased all over again when you do. You have a special talent for prose. I've read several of these entries and this is certainly one of the best I've seen so far. *smile*

One small note:
Two sons had followed, and not long after a third child was on its way.
When Trud was born, everybody cheered
--> this was a sudden and sharp change - from a child on its way to Trud suddenly being born. Maybe a transition of some sort?

Thanks and good luck!

Hmm, I see your wrote a story around an old story about Thor and when he lost (stolen) his hammer. I remember reading that tale when I was young. We see here that this version of Thor has never gotten over it. What is the All-father to do?

Very interesting. I wish you luck in the contest.

Thank you so very much. I'm glad you liked my version of this very old tale. I don't think Odin could do a lot, to be honest.
Everytime a thunderstorm comes along, I always say out loud. 'Oh, Thor is angry again.' There's a big pagan buried inside me. Thanks so much again. Ulla:)))

I like this, Ulla. Thor is one of my favorite mythological heroes. That hammer does have its uses and its misuses, doesn't it. This is a fun take on the myth. I can't imagine a muscle-bound god like Thor would look too good in a dress. I am laughing as I think about it.

A wonderful tale of Norse Mythology, though a bit of taking liberties with old tales, you bring us your own delightful story of Thor and his hammer. What an angry child, poor Thor, but it happens that way, sometimes.

Great job, and good luck in the contest,
Rhonda

Thanks a lot, Rhonda. I'm so glad you liked it. The legend is pretty much as I wrote. I just used my own words. Ulla:)))

An interesting story, and you have written it well. The choice of image is a good one with he blackness of thunderclouds. Good wishes for success in the contest.
