This is a beautiful Christmas Anthology, Sally. Your metre, rhyme and use of literary devices to illustrate your faith have been done with love and precision.

I wish you the best of luck with the Contest Committee and many thanks to you for sharing. :))

Hi dear Sally,
This is a most cherished and revered Christmas Anthology that
has lasted over centuries past since its forever sacred and
serene event. Questions posed in this poem most poignant and
soul searching indeed, asked many times over by Christian souls
and believers the world over. Your summation phrases so gently
and compassionately yield answers and truths that are everlasting
and will never cease to touch us so profoundly and gratefully.
Thanks for sharing dear....God Bless...Have a beautiful, blessed
Christmas too dear.
Love, blessings always, Ronni

Aw, thank you, Ronni dear. Your compliments and generous stars are so very kind. It took me a month to put this together. It's really an offering to the Lord to bring attention to the greatest gift ever given: The Christ Child.
Sending you my best today, dearest Ronni, and blessings for Christmas,

Oh, Sally, these poems are so beautiful, and fit for the King of Kings! Your rhymes here are really outstanding, and your presentation is just gorgeous, with the angelic image and ornate font.

I have only one very minor suggestion:

When the heavenly gift was laid...
-->
When the Heavenly Gift was laid...

Your poem has a sweet evangelical flavor -- and isn't that the hope of Christmas, to proclaim the Good News to all?

I hope you do very well in the contest.

Thank you so much for the beautiful review and kind compliments. I'm so honored and blessed by this. You're so sweet to review this I know you've been so busy. The six stars are just a topping for my Christmas tree. He is most worthy and I dedicate this to Him. Where will we be without this great salvation? I know... it is not a good place. I rejoice today that I was able to do this poem in honor of His such a wonderful Savior and the marvelous Gift of salvation. Sending you my best and blessings always,

Dear Sally, I'm so glad that you loved my review. I forgot to mention that I enjoyed your inclusion of Handel's "Messiah," and particularly the "Hallelujah Chorus," in your post. I always find this uplifting. Surely, it was divinely inspired. Some amazing day in the halls of His Divine Majesty, I would not be completely surprised if that piece of music makes it into the holy worship program, just as it is! Okay, maybe it would be enhanced just a little by the divinely tuned angelic voices. I would be falling down at His feet (and not worried about getting hurt, in my new and perfect body). Can you imagine what the rest of the program will sound like? HEAVENLY!

Very nice, Sally! This is a great entry for the Christmas Poetry contest.
I think the angels were sad when God left Heaven and became man. They knew it would be a difficult mission, and the only way to save backward mankind who He loves so much. The shepherds saw them, those grieving messengers in the night sky. It must have been an impressive sight. No small wonder they leaped for joy, and ran down the hillside to Bethlehem.
My favorite lines,
"Arise O Earth, for your Lord comes!
Turn from the Jester's mirth!
For unto you is born this day,
One of a virgin's birth!" ... I've never heard of Satan referred to as the "jester". But it suits him. He's nothing but trouble, tempter, and tattletale.
Accepting or rejecting Christ? It's the biggest decision to be made in a person's life. And you put it to Fanstory members in your poem. Once convicted, we all need to make up our minds. Follow the jester, or the King.
Nicely penned! Good Luck in the contest!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Thank you for the wonderful review of my poem and tribute to our Lord and Savior. He is worthy to be praised and I dedicate this to Him. I'm glad we share this faith and wondrous salvation. I'm glad to hear you say that it is a decision that we make to believe and receive Christ because it really is. It is the most important decision we will ever make and one that affects all eternity. Thank you again for your kind words and affirmations. Sending you my best and blessings always, dear Kimbob.

This tells the whole story of a love so great it was willing to sacrifice everything for mere man. It's almost incomprehensible. This is a lovely poem telling of Christ's birth and the real reason we celebrate this time of year.

What a beautiful rendering of the Christmas story. What wonder that God loved us enough to take on Himself the form of man in order to redeem us. And all we have to do is to give ourselves to Him.

These poems, The Gift of Christ and The Angel's Proclamation, both remind us that we are saved by Grace. The world was once blind, but now we see.
