Of course Leo thinks that about the dog, Patty. I enjoyed reading this cute poem. The style is really interesting & adds to the enjoyment. One doesn't realize how the syllables/lines are shrinking each verse because the content is more important. But it makes sense.
Good job on the great rhymes & smooth flow of lines, too. I love the ending. Leo deserves all the love coming to him.
The picture is perfect. He looks to be a Russian Blue.
Thanks for sharing & caring. Jan

Hi Jan; thank you for reading and the great review. Leo was part Russian Blue and part silver tabby. He was an awesome cat. I still miss him after almost five years.

We have two cats. One is a Bengal. She meows so loudly that the neighbor's lights come on hen she starts up. The other cat is a Savannah. She has never meowed. If she wants something she just stares at us and tries to communicate telepathically.

LOL! I like Savannah. She could come over and stare at Howie and Bernie. Bernie could understand what she is saying. He does 'telepath.'

Leo sound a very patient cat.
Sure of your love for him, he is able to share you.
A lovely sensitive poem, Patty.
The silent cats are often the most sensitive ones, I do agree.
The noisier ones are perhaps a bit insecure, poor things.
My Tommy was a noisy bossy cat until his brother passed on. Then he became my quiet boy who hardly ever left me sitting alone, though he was always my favourite.
Thanks for telling me a bit about Leo.

I'm glad to share Leo with the world. He is a very special and sensitive animal, and I think that Harley's entrance into our world has been a bit difficult for him, but he does seem to know that he is still valued, treasured, and always welcome to snuggle with me. Thank you for reading along. ~patty~

Oh, sibling rivalry amongst the animal members of the family. LOL I have never heard of this form, quite interesting - I really admire how you are doing all this experimenting, Patty. :-)

Leo is a cat and should know how to outwit a dog. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for an easy read. Good job.

What a wonderful structure, Patty, with words to match.
Poor Leo, now Harley has has moved onto his patch.
Those emerald eyes are melting my heart.
Best wishes.

Another nice pet poem. I bet you have a photo album of all your pets through the years. This is nicely written. I like the form with the diminishing line and syllable count. (shouldn't the last stanza be also one line with one syllable? you have 2 lines there:)) Great job. I enjoyed reading this.

Uh oh! You are so right -- but I felt he needed His Time. LOL! Yes, I do have a huge photo album full of my pets, and I have digitilized a great deal of them, which makes this little project easier. Thank you for reading along, I greatly appreciate it. ~patty~

No problem! :)I love cats and dogs too and you're doing great with your pet poems. Best to you in this project!

Poor Leo, still trying to cope with the arrival of Harley, huh? They are just children. They don't like to share the parent's attention.

I honestly think Leo is having the roughtest time, but as long as I make sure he gets some attention each day - AND fed of course, I think he will do fine. Thank you for reading along. ~patty~

So, Mustangpatty,
You write such adorable poems about animals! I just love my puppy (shih tzu) and border collie.
It's amazing to me what we can learn about life and love through the eyes of an animal. They were given to us to enjoy and such a blessing they are!
How Leo wishes dog had never been born ... LOL
Have a wonderful day,
Lou
