adewpearl: Awesome poetry and well deserving of the all time best! Do you publish your books of poetry? I like the time's passive herd, widow's frock and garlands in her hair. The brown and bare show the season of fall before it becomes black and white of winter.

I will be learning a lot from you. Signing up for your class today. God bless the work of your words in Jesus Name. Soli deo Gloria!

Best love it, it's an inevitable yearly event here. Looks like you did a nice job with the form too. I enjoyed the personification, and like the term, 'Herd.' Kenny

I love autumn. It's my favourite season, and I love how you have described it here - that spectacular but all-too-brief spell, right before winter. Super writing.

Indian summer leafs fall from a golden aspen, a silver maple, a red oak testifying summers end and autumn has returned. Your words are deep cold and yet warm and romantic.

Thank you for your positive comments, Charlie. Since they are positive, is there a reason for the 4 rating?? Brooke

I had just noticed on my daily walk, that the leaves had started changing for the coming season. I am loath to think that winter is coming again since last year was a fairly long one. This poem does justice to the thought of ending our short summer, however. Thanks for that :)

Thanks so much, Gargantuan - there are some states with many many inches of snow already, and it's still the first half of September. I cannot stand another winter like last year. I really can't. Brooke

A beautiful tribute to Autumn in all her glory. Just before the year fades into the bleakness of winter, Autumn breaks out in bright colors as if defying death with a show of light.

I'm afraid autumn never really had much of a chance this year. I don't think many of our leaves have changed yet and it's already suppose to be freezing in the next couple days. Up north had snow flurries. Great job with this friend and I loved that you wrote on 9/11. Such a sad day but it's things like the pretty leaves that can give us hope once more.

Impeccable rhyme as always and a wonderful statement. I am almost surprised that you drew upon frock and clock in two consecutive stanzas but that is never no mind. The thrust remains terrific. Cheers - DJ

Broke, your poem is beautiful. I love it. The figures of speech in the beginning and the succeeding and the images presented are keen and adorable. Before seeing who he author is, I had the feeling that it was from Brooke, lady. Thanks for sharing. Dom
