Quite the poemly story, a really in depth tale of this young lad. Nice picture of Sawyer, He must have really had a mind blowing experience to stand infront of such a large animal, even though it's not alive. His dreams are probably full of them.
I enjoyed the characters mind that you get the reader to know. such a rebel of a son that doesn't want to follow his dad's dream.
good work
this is the longest one I've read of yours yet

Another gem. I loved your story. I love the repeated sections. It adds to the flow. I liked the rhymes very much. I liked the way the story developed. The name of the young boy is so cute. I could see this as a children's book. Super job.

Love the image! I like your poem because it rhymes so easily....
but let me assure you, it's true, every word,
this record of Harrison Smythson the Third.
I like the way that sounds...it just kinda gets your attention...

I am so pleased that Harrison Harrington Smythson found his way home after his great adventure, never to run away from home again.
This is a fabulous poem, Brooke, with wonderful alliteration and enjambment! The imagery is wonderful. My favorite line is:
Besides it ate bushes, not fresh Harry meat --
The picture is a perfect enhancement to your words. Thank you for this wonderful poem! Alana

An amazing story, Brooke, about Harrison Harrington Smythson the Third (what a name). Great rhymes, flow and cadence, excellent picture of Sawyer exploring that dinosaur Zoo section.
Your poems never disappoint, and they always put a smile on my face.

Hi Brooke
I saw the title and then the image .... knew I was in for a treat. Fabulous photo taken by Miranda, she has a great eye.
Another adventure for Sawyer, the dinosaur section sounds/looks like fun. :)))
Your imagination is beyond the beyond Brooke. What a delightful story poem for children and adults alike. Quite a tall tale and some learning and education to boot. As per usual, outstanding rhyme and meter, you make it seem so easy. I love the alliteration in "Harrison Harrington" and his full name. Excuse my poor memory, has Harry appeared before in your poems?
Well, such grand adventures best left for the dream times for little ones. WOW! What a dream to have! A good message for children to learn, their parent's passions may not be their own and it is OK to explore different avenues.
Read aloud is an extra bonus and I can imagine all the smiles on faces being read this story .. also a great opportunity to bring up ideas of their own, expanded from their parent's world. A smile on my face all the way through. Thank Heavens T-Rex's don't exist anymore ... Harry may have been breakfast.
"Besides, it ate bushes, not fresh Harry meat -- " 'fresh Harry meat' - hysterical. Dinosaurs with manners ... superb. Much to draw the minds of children and encourages to expand their own imaginations. I've truly enjoyed. Hugs - Lovi xoxox

Thanks so much, Lovinia, nope, this name is brand new. All those long-ass names I use are easily confused with each other. LOL

My memory is still a little jaded. ..... love the names you come up with ... even when I can't remember them. :)))) Lovi xoxox

Gotta say Brooke - I think this is my favored poem - thus far. Creative, inventive, beautifully rhymed and a joy to read. I've read it a few times and like it more each time.
I would love to have a coffee with you one day! AT=/

Brooke - have never been a fan of "poetry," but your offerings are fun, sincere, loving and interesting. I have come to appreciate and look forward to this genre. And, only due to your talent and elegance of words. Jean

Another great one!
The lilting rhyme made for such a great read and actually, at least for me, helped me anticipate each stanza before it came.
Your cleaver choices for word imagery made Harrison's adventure both great fantasy and history at the same time.
I hope he learned his lesson about unsupervised excursions.
Well done again.

Very well-rounded poem and sojourn in the imaginative life and world of Harrison Harrington Smythson the Third. Yes, we all can be so brave and indeed he was to venture off at first, who could blame him. And, how wise, as well, when he decided it best to be back home. Loren
