Top animal is a prestigious place to be a top-ranked animal, or at least think that you are. We have had two cats or three, (if one counts the the time a neutered Persian male would manoeuvre my elder daughter out from her pillow so he could occupy it) that have held the "pillow spot" at my wife's head. Beautifully written Patty, I love your pet stories, well done, blessings, Roy

thank you so much for the lovely review of this poem about Leo. I revived this in order to honor Leo's memory. He has been gone from my life for about five years now, but never gone from my heart,

Yes we've only got one left, we're reluctant to get more, they might outlive us, Roy

I love my pets. The cats now outnumber the dog. All are quite old. Your poem content pleases me, and though I never heard of the diminished hexaverse, you seem to follow the form. Fivers.

I like the way the rhythm of this poem captures the cat's thinking, his feeling, and how the poem kind of starts a bit tense and then unwinds into this cat laying down on a pillow and letting all its anxieties go. estory

This shows how jealous pets can be of other pets that take away their master's love.
It also shows how loving and loyal they are to owners.

I have not come across this form before, but what an excellent match to content it is here, as the time tick down and the cat's long wai for his time gets shorter so do the lines in sympathy. At last it is the dog's turn for the jealousay kick. I loved it.

Lovely cat picture. This is lovely, I know my dogs would be very jealous if I had a cat. The poem flows well and tells a good story of 'wait and good things will come' Leo's time came. MaggieF

Great poem! I thought it had nice flow and imagery. As someone that has had both dogs and cats I can definitely relate. Dogs need so much attention, it's a good thing cats are patient! :)

This is an interesting form that I had never heard of. Thanks for explaining in the notes.
I love the picture of Leo, he is cute... and seems to be patient too.
Thanks for sharing.

Sorry to hear that. It's sad when a pet dies.

And why not. A nice little write about an animal that holds me near, mine having his own little quirks.
Almost picture the scene in front of me.
Nicely done. Never seen this form before, so always learning. Yet, regardless...it is the outcome which is key.
My best wishes.

I'm sure I mentioned I'm not much of a poetry expert, just read what I like. I liked this. I never really had cats and dogs at the same time, but have lived with several cats for a long time, and several dogs for some time, including now. I know those different temperaments. The great thing about cats is being able to be at work and they don't care. As for my puppies, always will be puppies, not so much. I come home after a few hours and they go nuts. I love that.
hugs Heidi
