It's amazing what our pride will tell us, and it lies to justify itself, as Archie is finding out by the probing question directed by wise old Sani. They have made it into and reasonably far into the desert. We have a lot of desert in Australia, but aboriginals have existed on food and water from various sources of survival for 40,000 years, foolish people die in the desert unless they know how to survive. Well done Rhonda, good story, (being a Texas girl you'd know about desert. Blessings, Roy

Thank you for the excellent review and comments. I learned a lot from helping Fez with his books about the desert and survival. Unfortunately, just as I need his advice most, he's gone underground. Haha. I hope he surfaces well enough to give suggestions.
Take care,
Rhonda

Have a look for "bush tucker man" Rhonda, that might help,

I actually have that book. I got it when I started helping Fez with his book. Thanks for the advice!

Excellent. I find this story absolutely fascinating. It is extremely interesting and draws this reader right into the story. It is one of those books I don't like to put down.

Seems like they did get away, at least for now. I like the way they plan to hide under the ground to sleep... very clever of you to think of it. :)

I actually have a friend who studied under a survival guru, and she has been my resource. There will be more of her advice as the book continues through the desert part, anyway.
Thanks for your wonderful comments,
Rhonda

I've been intrigued by this book from the start and now there is so much suspense with Archie and company on the run and the Cougar kin hot on their trails.
Truly a joy to read.

Thank you for the six stars, Michael! It is as kind as it is welcomed!!
Thank you for keeping up, as well.

Great job on this post, Rhonda. You put in a little bit of animosity between the two males, but not too much. I loved the description of the cave/tent/camouflage Sani devised. Really clever and it added authenticity to your story.
Does Ayala realize yet that Koko is pregnant?

Hi, and thank you for the wonderful six star review, Heidi. How very generous!!
To answer your question, no she doesn't yet, but Archie's about to spill the beans. i had it in this chapter, originally, but it made it way too long, so I'll post the rest later.
Take care,
Rhonda

Wow I love the story line and the teaching you do at the same time. Excellently written and spot on interaction between the players.

Thank you, Barb. Old Sani is full of wisdom, even though they don't always appreciate it. I have Sani as an older character to balance out all of the young characters. They have to have a voice of authority somewhere.
Thanks again.

Thank you, Ulla!! What beautiful shining stars!!
The team has a pretty good lead, though I can't promise they won't come across opposition. After all, it wouldn't be a book without it, right??
Thanks again,
Rhonda

A great photo of a bare tree that complements this chapter perfectly. Their initial escape seems to run smoothly. Archie even is the son of the president. Nice balance between dialogues and narrative.

Thank you, Robina. If anything, I tend to go with too much dialogue and not enough description. I have to go back and put in details. I think, and this is just a theory, is because I talk to much...
Take care,
Rhonda

This is the second story line I've read of yours. I loved the episodes of the Daredevil Girls I've read. This is a good plot and I like your cast of characters. Keep the coming!
Have a great day and God bless.
