There was so much to treasure in this chapter -- the bright scenes of the churchyard and the family enjoying themselves in the evening, the dialogue that felt real and lifelike, the mystery at the heart of the story and the attempts to unravel it leading only further into riddles and questions. The characters were likable and make me want to follow along to see what might happen next.

So my so a clue came through her son. They died in a fire. How horrible, but how wonderful for Veronica to be given a clue. Love the story.

James looked down at his drowsy son, and smiled tenderly (You can omit the comma)

Thank you so much, Barbara, yes, now to find out how Michael knew! Thanks for finding that comma, goodness knows where that came from! LOL. It's gone now, thanks for that, my friend. :) Sandra xx

Aught oh, looks like both children have powers
and Michael seems to like a little nip now and then,
now which ancestor would that be.
So maybe those butterflies are the famous whispering ones
butterflies that tell secrets (maybe Lady Anne and Peter or Lady Gwendolyne,
maybe the grandparents or the Powers. Too many maybe butterflies in the ointment)
Another surprise ending, though fires were quite common in the old days,
but how did it start? That may be the question.
And where is Joe? He's either down at the pub or out flapping his wings.
Excellent writing.
RS

LOL, it will all start to become clear in the next part, Robert, well, a little clearer at least! It's amazing how many relate to the butterflies, I Googled it, and it's a common notion that they do carry the spirit of a loved one and if they land on you, it's to tell you they are watching over you. But, why would they land on Michael? Hmm. Thank you for another wonderful, fun review, my dear friend, and for all the shiny stars! Big hugs! :) Sandra xxx

-Lovely image.
-A very intriguing chapter, Sandra.
-Interesting attraction of the blue
butterflies to Michael.
-I like the family time you are
including for Ver., James, and the children.
-I guess Michael stirred things up a bit
by taking a "huge swig" of James's drink.
-Fortunately the warm milk seemed to calm
him down and he was ready for bed.
-You are leaving us with very good endings-
there is info. about the deaths of Daveth's grandparents,
and then Michael speaking in an unrecognizable
voice,giving info. about the grandparents.
-That was quite a twist!

I remembered my son taking his dad's wine at my brother's wedding we when he was just two years old. LOL. Thank you so much, my friend, for this lovely review, and all those stars. I hope you will enjoy the next part, coming soon. Much love, and a big hug as always. :) Sandra xxx

This was another great chapter Sandra. The two ladies definitely did an in depth search of the cemetery. I really enjoy the butterfly touch, it was a very positive reflection of the connection with the past. It was also a fitting finish that Michael not only gulped down some alcohol but then woke briefly from a state of slumber to comment on Daveth's grandparents death and the affect was great. Very well done, very enjoyable, thanks.

Thanks for sharing another of your outstanding chapters that keep me so entertained. I've always been a sucker for time travels. And of course, I must admit that, I would have been worse than a scallywag had I been blessed with those abilities. At least in my younger years. Great job. :-)

I can quite believe you'd be more than a 'scallywag' Ric, LOL! I would too if I had the powers. Thank you so much for this lovely review, my friend. I'm delighted you enjoyed this part. :) Sandra xxx

You really know how to build up the elements of mystery, stringing out clues, then deftly discounting them (I'm sure until later), then you end with the mystery of Michael's words. Brilliant work!

"Well, that was a waste of time." I grumbled as we left the church [I'm just curious if you intended "I grumbled" as a speech tag. If so, you need a comma, not a period after "time." Personally, if it is not a speech tag, I get an odd sensation "I" grumbled because of the time it took for your eyes to adjust to the brilliant sunshine outside.]

"The one on the gravestone was the same shade of blue. Aren't they lovely?" [Excellent foreshadowing, I think. All based on whether there is a supernatural connection there.]

Hi Jay, Thank you so much for your lovely review and spotting that full stop/period, it should have been a comma. I've put it right now! :)) Yes, things are definitely happening in Veronica's 'other' world. She won't be too happy with them, either! I'm really pleased you are spotting the little clues I keep dropping, lol, I love doing that! Big hugs, my friend!! :) Sandra xxx

Someone or something possessed Michael to tell you "It were the fire" Another clue from a very unexpected place. The butterfly's were trying to tell you something as well I believe. Were they an omen or what? The plot deepens. Well done Sandra dear. Nancy

Another impressive chapter, Sandra -
Michael is a lovely character. I've an open mind when it comes to a butterfly landing on a person - I've always felt it was a sign from someone we've loved and lost - I don't know where I got that idea from - but somehow I find it a great comfort, so will go on believing it.

Looking forward to the next part, my friend.

Margaret

It is an old belief, Margaret, and one I like to believe in. Veronica will realise this soon. So, you carry on, I find it comforting too. Thank you so much for your lovely review, my friend, I really appreciate it from you. :) Sandra xxxx

Oh my goodness, every time you do something like that with the kids, I keep waiting for their little heads to spin and them to chant REDRUM!

Sounds like Daveth making an appearance, possibly?

I know, I know... I have to wait for the next chapter!

Great post today, Sandra. :-)

One correction:
1st paragraph: came out OF the church
