Bob, I wonder if you remember right. How can I believe you were so lost, but I guess I do believe it. It is like your life was being lived by another person when you were young. I feel such a distance in your writing between then and now. What a wonderful relationship you must enjoy to have cast all your former years in such shadow. Great poem and beautiful words. I loved reading it. Franny

good alliteration in mindless masquerades in misty moonlight
I love the image of the velvety fingers of mercy
I also like the alliterative grouping of caressed/coaxed/calm
a lovely love poem - your wife has to be very happy with this :-) Brooke

This is a real tearjerker of a lost soul looking for a lost love who emerges just at the right moment said in a subdued but interesting commentary. I think your heartfelt love would swoon oven this poem. Merry XMAS and a Happy New Years to you and your family - Bob. Regards Alan

Hi Bob,
This is beautifully written. For a novelist, you can write some darn good poetry too - lol. Lovely metaphors throughout. Sounds like you're a pretty lucky guy, too!
Warm regards,
-Lee

Beautifully wrought, Bob. Your internal rhyme (especially, masquerades and charades), lovely alliteration and heartfelt sentiment (without being maudlin) all create a lyrical song for a very lucky woman. D

'Joy' is a beautiful poem to commemorate your wife and how you met. The fourth verse is utterly charming and sincere. Excellent use of adjectives. Thank you for sharing. Well done.

I'd give you a six for that second stanza alone - it's mesmerising, and perfectly judged. For me, it's the standout section of a brilliant piece.

Hello Bob
I am sorry that I haven't gotten back sooner. We had hurricane force winds for Wed. and Thurs into Friday, knocking out power and my phone lines for the internet for four days
This is such a grand message. it opens the readers mind to your hearts true intent. Thanks for sharing it

It is quite true that we are some unpainted canvass, an empty page to be filled with ideas. Only our personal life stabilizes us.
