Cuptake--good one, Brooke.
I'm willing to testify, your honor, that the alleged missing cupcake is not missing at all. In fact, I have photographic evidence. I move for dismissal!
A great job working with this uncanny photo, Brooke.
But I think Sawyer should be rewarded for recovering the cupcake from the truly guilty party.
Peace, Lee

Lee, thanks so much - I just love this kid's creative take on words :-) Sawyer's mother is the best liar I ever met - the tales she told as a child are legendary. I am now looking forward to years of his lying to her. LOL I so appreciate your good humor and generous rating :-) Brooke

This is delightful, Brooke, and the perfect companion to the picture. It reminds me of when I was a little boy and broke the window of a storm door in the basement, and when my Mom asked me if I'd done it, I asked, "Did you saw me do it?" She said, "No," and I answered, "I didn't do it." Deny, deny, deny. :)
One quick suggestion: in my unwilling hands, (into my idle hands)

Dave, thanks for your thoughtful feedback :-) Brooke

Wow, Brooke, you must be spending the day playing catch-up. Considering how many reviews you get, it must take forever!
My pleasure, by the way. I always enjoy your work.
-
that's exactly what I'm doing - review, review, review and reply, reply, reply :-)
and tomorrow four new courses start - I'm feeling a bit busy LOL
-
Yikes. Don't forget to breathe...and WRITE! Please tell me you're covering metrical substitutions again. I've found myself avoiding beginning sentences with a trochee here because I'm tired of explaining why I'm doing it. ;-)
-
Yes, still teaching that - but I get a whopping two or three students for a course, so at that rate it should take a few decades to spread the word LOL
-
Slow and steady wins the race, I guess...if we live that long. Glad we're fighting the good fight, at least. Thanks for providing that service, Brooke, and if there's anything I can do to assist or contribute, don't hesitate.
-
Maybe if next time I list classes I can promise a date with the rogue to one lucky lady among those who register, I'll double the number of women signing up. LOL :-)
-
Or it'll be reduced by half, depending on who the registrants are. ;-)

Another great one by you Brooke, good word flow and rhyming telling of this little who says he didn't do it. Cute little story about the missing cup cake.

Innocent until proven guilty. He's learning early, isn't it? I enjoyed this piece, Brooke. Very clever and I got a good chuckle out of it. Nice job.

A missing cupcake--unacceptable, particularly in my home!
A well-penned child's perspective on missing treats, while emphasizing in a fun fashion that evidence (including pink frosting) can lead to a guilty person.
A pleasure to read of a child's sugary dilemma.

Thanks so very much, Bob - Sawyer's mom was the best liar I've ever known, so he has a great career ahead of him. LOL Brooke

Excellent photo of Sawyer again. A cupcake is missing, he claims it is not him. If there is proof it is because they set him up. Verdict: not guilty.

A picture is worth a thousand
words, except when it comes
to you, where the poet conjures
up words of rhyming mirth that
are sure to bring a smile to old
and young alike.
Well done
