Lao-tzu would definitely concur with this poetic musing no doubt a la steps and journeys ! -a delightful questioning tone pervades the stanzas

A nice easy flowing poem with some ecological metaphorical logic, that's the way you're supposed to use it. I love this even metered, skilfully rhymed poem! I really like you style Brooke and I suspect a lot of others do as well, I wished you lived close enough to " pop in" for a cup of coffee! Blessings, Roy.

Brooke, Foot Prints in the sand! Sawyer is a busy little boy. Miranda is a wonderful mother. She does so many things with him. He's learning something new every day. I enjoy this journey with Sawyer. I look forward to your poems about Sawyer each day. Smiles and hugs. Carole

Thank you so much :-) Miranda's great joy in life is doing things with Sawyer. She likes beaches like Topanga that aren't boardwalk/sideshow kinds of places, and Sawyer seems to love them too :-) Brooke

Brooke, another short but powerful one that says so much. Yes, we have to take that first step in order to start our journey. What got me to stop and think was when you wrote that just a single raindrop is all it took to start the sea. And without the sea, we would be back to sand, and without footprints there would be no journey. Why can't I think like you??? I love these poems with a wonderful message. Just wish I could get into your head for a little while, lol. BRAVO with this one. . .Sharon

Oh Brooke, your writing is just too good, and you should be putting these into books! I look forward to each poem, no matter if it's funny, with a message or without, just because of how you write. So very, very good!!!

So true this is. Great rhyme and rhythm. A great lesson for life here... you cant achieve big things without starting out small. Very well done. Great picture.

Some powerful messages implicit in this one, Brooke. I particularly like:
'just like a single raindrop
that helped to build the sea,
but if there were no rain drops,
the seas would turn to sand'
We can feel so insignificant in this world, just a mere 'drop in the ocean', and forget that every drop creates a ripple. These lines also empower the truth that 'All is One'.
I like that you've used 'footstep', and haven't tried to fit 'footprints' in there, which has become a little cliched.
You have the gift of both reminding adults of the simple truths that are eclipsed by, well, life (!), and teaching children.
Cheers

Brooke, correlation in this poem between a single footsteps or a drop of rain In its simplicity can start something large and anew. Your rhyming was done excellently and neither of your rhymes were forced, labor or strained and your rhythms
meter and tempo Was extremely well done and flowed smoothly throughout your poem. Thank you for sharing and posting this for everyone and may the Lord be with you always.

In your notes you thank the person who supplied the picture, in my review I would like to thank you. Whether intentional or not you have reminded me that taking the first step is not the journey and not to be discouraged right away, just because something doesn't go my way. Thank you!

A somewhat philosophical chain of thought, each one a valid idea. "The longest journey begins with the first step" (can't remember who said that). Another nicely worded and rhymed poem. Always a pleasure to read your fine work. Pete
