Perhaps you know this poem, but on the off chance you don't. please enjoy and know you are the bridge builder for your Grandson.
The Bridge Builder
BY WILL ALLEN DROMGOOLE
An old man going a lone highway,
Came, at the evening cold and gray,
To a chasm vast and deep and wide.
Through which was flowing a sullen tide
The old man crossed in the twilight dim,
The sullen stream had no fear for him;
But he turned when safe on the other side
And built a bridge to span the tide.
"Old man," said a fellow pilgrim near,
"You are wasting your strength with building here;
Your journey will end with the ending day,
You never again will pass this way;
You've crossed the chasm, deep and wide,
Why build this bridge at evening tide?"
The builder lifted his old gray head;
"Good friend, in the path I have come," he said,
"There followed after me to-day
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm that has been as naught to me
To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be;
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building this bridge for him!"

What joy and pride you have in Jo. I love the closing couplet. So much wisdom in so few words.
Each child was born to dance on dreams,
to walk in favour, love's bright beams.

This is a wonderful birthday prayer for such a cute 6 year old. Your thought about each child being unique is so true. Last two lines are exceptionally expressive. Each child was born to dance on dreams. It would be great if all children were loved and had the same supportive, loving start. What a great picture. It's so neat that they're dressed alike. judi

Hi Roy,
It was a lovely dedication to your grandson who's birthday was on this day, and you showed well your hopes that he will follow a path with God in his heart.
Our joy will grow with each new day,
for love can't die, or fade, decay;
with each new birth, each child's unique,
arrayed in hope, to grow, to seek -- beautiful part.

Oh ... what a gorgeous family. :)
This is a loving birthday wish. I can tell you love them very much. How special to get a poem wrote for you. Their blonde hair reminds me of my son when he was young. You should be very proud.
Thank you for sharing, Roy.
