The artwork you chose resonates Van Gogh for me and your modified triolet fits well with it. The "wide-eyed hope" may be gone, but your optimism still shines through. I enjoyed the form and your rhymes very much.

This was a beautiful expression of how when we are young we are quick to believe and even quicker to become disillusioned. Doesn't matter to me what you call it, it's still a poem.

Brooke, your poem rings true for me, and somehow, I'm being led to poems and stories that have a similar theme. If only we all could find that child-like faith again. As always, you've written beautifully.
