Hi, I have no idea what a traditonal poem is. I guess it is this:-) Bubbles, you amyze me how you come up with ideas, and they are always good and make me think.
We have a store down town that has a bear blowing bubble machine. And i do stand there and feel better. I do notice other people doing the same thing.
So bubbles it is.

Really great as always. You are always so creative with your poems. I rarely think like this. I still have a kids mind, I always like to be funny or silly. Wish I could write like this. Hope you do well in the contest. Rox

I love living in the city where all the excitement is, but I miss the grass and squirrels and yes, dandelions. Very nice poem and Sawyer blowing bubbles.

I love the flow and several poetic lines like "Lonely stems are left to grieve," and Dandelion seeds of silk hitch a ride on breezes blowing." This is well written and lovely. I enjoyed reading this piece.

'Gloom Soon Passes' is an extremely well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. It was a pleasure to both read and review this talented poet's work.

There truly is something magical about a dandelion in a kids hand. Who would think that a weed could be so delicate and delightful!

It is interesting that you switch between the childish fun of blowing bubbles to the lesson in life found there and in the dandelion going to seed. The bubbles live briefly in a shimmering rainbow, then it bursts and dies on a blade of grass. At the same time, the dandelion has lost it's color and is now stark and bare.

Well done... and a great little message contained in your beautifully metered and rhymed lines too. Where there is life, there will be loss... but also renewal and fresh starts. I enjoyed the Trochaic meter too... different and not so easy to do, but very pleasant to the ear.

Dandelion seeds of silk,
hitch a ride on breezes blowing.
Meadows once as white as milk
then will thrive with gold aglowing.
I enjoyed the dance between dandelions and children and the way you've connected them. This is a well written traditional poem. As always,
Jewell
