From the opening line to the closing one, hilarity reeking of sarcasm. LOVED IT!
There were so many good lines in this piece...I'm writing them down, going to store them for 30 years, hope you die within that time, and then claim them as my own!
A couple of nits:
...being the third largest global energy company and the 4th largest corporation... (you spelled out 'third', but not '4th'? Choose one or the other...I vote spell them both out.)
...and march 1998, (Capital 'M' on March)
...palms of their hands and come up (with?) some answers."
Good luck in the contest, but frankly, I don't think you'll need it. Haven't read an entry that even comes close to this super piece.

yeah, the oil companies sit around and think with their heads up their butts, while the ocean is being ruined. Seems like there ought to be something to be done. great job.

The funniest thing about this is everyone who complains about oil companies buys oil and thus gives them the money they use to pay people to come up with answers. I love the opening line.
