Once again, the words, the picture, and the colors all blend together so nicely. Nature brings to us an inner beauty. Flowers are a special part of it that makes us all smile.

Hi Brooke,
This is OK -- don't get any pins for me I can only handle one witch doctor at a time!
No florist can set a price on that. heh heh No UK florest in his/her right mind would pick them to sell unless they wanted to wind up in Jail (true -- no joke!)
best to you
Keith

Yes, picking them is illegal in more than one place! Thanks, Keith :-) Brooke

reminds me of Arlo Guthrie in Alice's Restaurant - littering also gets you little respect from fellow convicts LOL

I live in Wisconsin, very close to Minnesota but, I have never seen a ladysslipper. You'd think that there might be one or two around? A very pretty haiku. Tony

Tony, they are the kind of flower you really have to go looking for - by rivers, in the shade - not like you just drive by a field of them :-) Thanks for visiting and commenting :-) Brooke

Can I get one in size 9? I love your floral explorations. Boy that would be fun to hike daintily and carefully through some of those areas.

i have never acutally seen a lady slipper, but it is pretty i think i would like some of these in my garden. I have hollyhocks, day lilies, peonies and digitalis (this is awful I can't for the life of me think of what they are called.) I do love the flower series. You alway include so much info.

Thank you :-) While I have seen Jack in the Pulpit in the wild quite often, I've only seen ladyslippers a rare couple of times :-) Brooke

Manitoba Canada is a gloriously beautiful place -I'd been there two decades ago and still recall the scenes. This is a lovely haiku, for a lovely flower. True to form (as always!)
Elegance resides in your haiku.
nice color scheme to match the artwork.
I think you have such good taste!
Love, rd

This certainly is an elegant flower as
is your poem that describes it so fluently
The artwork certainly frames a lovely flower

Thank you for your comments on the lovely
ladyslipper. It certainly is one of the
jewels of the wildflower kingdom, and your
poem is a perfect expression of this rare
and priceless gift. Carolyn

Beautiful thing, indeed. I have found a number of them on the trail that leads to the beach. Ours are white, with red stamens. They are so beautiful. I mark where they grow so I can find them the following year. I've found as many as a dozen in one particular spot. I'm glad you reminded me. I'll look for them on my walk today. Don't worry. I would never think of picking one.
Your haiku puts things into perspective. The finer things in life are free for the looking. Great job, Brooke.

Wow, a dozen in one spot - that is too much beauty all at once!! Yes, different areas of the country have different colors/varieties. I've only ever seen a few in New England, each time memorable :-) Thanks, Adrienne. Brooke

Well written, enjoyable. Passion for nature's beauty and the wonder of it gives not only a sense of appreciation but of belonging. What a priviledge to view something so rare.
