I love fall, and I feel that this does it justice. You touched on each thing that makes that season so special to me. The colorful leaves and the relief from the heat of summer are the big ones for me. I'm not so good with poetry, so I'm useless when it comes to finding ways to improve. But I can tell you that this doesn't need to improve. It is enjoyable in every way,and I couldn't ask for a better executed poem.

Lovely poem. It has a nice flow of rhythm and rhymes. Subtle rhymes on an abab scheme. It is well thought out and clearly written. Nicely done. Excellent work.

Hi Brooke,

The Fall colours are always a lovely show, especially for someone like myself used to a climate where the difference between the seasons is the length of the daylight hours!

Brooke,
I'm glad your back. I wrote two poems to you. I have one posted and the other in preview mode. Your poem is fabulously written with exquisite imagery.
The art work you used is gorgeous of the autumn scene.
In your quatrains poem you used excellent rhyme and meter.
You used very fine alliteration: "though trees, consumes the air and chilling, to travel, learn life's & crisp and clear."
You also used great metaphors: "rainbow landscape never seen, dream of leaves, summer's heat consumes the air, fails to leave, cornucopia dreams to take the whole view & life's changed"
I enjoyed your last stanza:
If fall should ever disappear
as if its days have been swept clean,
I'll dream of autumn, crisp and clear,
although the world stays ever green.
I love your whimsical poem about Autumn.
I wish you good luck in the contest with your amazing poem.
Would I recommend your food for thought poem to others reviewers?
Yes, I would,
Keep rocking the poetic art.
Please have a Happy Holidays, my friend ,
Love ya,
Melissa.

Melissa, I don't fly home until Sunday but came back on to post the contest poem before the deadline. That is so nice that you've written poems for me. I will go look for the one you've already posted. I really appreciate your generous exceptional rating, too.

Excellent write. Makes me think: If death should ever disappear. What then?
I love fall also. I find it quite a show. It would be nice if people became more beautiful just before their end. Yet, for the best, maybe their spirits do.
Many thanks for sharing. Are you back home? Bob

Hello adewpearl, Brooke,

The splendor of autumn, indeed. Beautiful descriptive writing and imagery, especially ...

If fall should ever disappear
as if its days have been swept clean,
I'll dream of autumn, crisp and clear,
although the world stays ever green.

A perfect autumn poem. As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. Happy Holidays, LateBloomer

Dear Brooke,
I loved the varied beautifully rendered metaphors here; the harvest moon on imagined vine, the dreaming up of flocks of geese...This one is a total winner--Ted

So pleased that you are back, Brooke. I hope you had a lovely time with the family. This poem I can relate to. We don't want to do without autumn and its beauty. Great rhyming quatrains. Best wishes for the prompt.
