What a perfect description of "gray sky days", winds lashing, drenching rain flooding to the door, Brooke. I actually love that weather, but only in juxtaposition with "blue sky days". I really enjoyed this poem this morning. It is icy outside, but the sun is shining here in VA. Thanks for sharing... Mary

Excellent idea. We have had so many grey days in Florida. At least now it is raining. I will pull out my pictures and go through some memories. Great post, perfect timing for me. joan marie

Thank you, Joan Marie. I think a day going through your pictures sounds like a great solution to the rain! Brooke :-)

I wish I had a box like that. I bet it would make the winter days go by faster. I love that you could store away the sunny day. Well done.

Jack, you're the one always inspiring everyone else - I didn't figure you needed to be told to take out the old blue sky box! LOL
    Thanks, my friend :-) Brooke

Or you could move here where we have each several times a day, lol! We had five seaparate thunderstorms yesterday, with clear blue skies in between each one. It's crazy!

I love the idea of a memory box like that!!

"Blue sky days" is such an appealing image and perfect title, and when accompanied by such an inspirational picture, makes us forget about the chill of winter. Thank you for transporting us with the aid of your "box of memories" metaphor.

Brooke, that is just lovely, how uplifting, with a lilting rhythm and a pleasing presentation! I finally found a moment to review a couple of poems and I'm glad that this was one of them. It really put me in a good mood. Thank you for writing and sharing this one about how to turn around a bad mood (that's what I took from it, anyway).

Love,

Jenny *smile*

Brooke,

I think that it is good that you are able to reach into your treasure of memories of sunny warm days to help you cope with those dreary days. That is assuming that that is something that you really do:) I enjoyed your contemplative poem and your scattered rhymes and lovely presentation.

Very nice!

Linda

I'm wondering if the blue sky is going to show up today. Right now, it's all fog. I suppose keeping in mind that it's not going to last forever, would probably be a good idea. ;) Thanks, Brooke!
