Goodness, I'm so impressed. I tell Sally over and over how much I love this form. And here you go, using it to create an exquisite verse. It's a powerful dichotomy, a tug of war between wishes, dreams, goals, and life's drama and the quietude of this peaceful place and finding a way to find grace in all outcomes.
Lovely!

Thank you, Sally created a beautiful form and I've loved writing several poems borrowing it from her :-) Brooke

This is so good. Everyone needs a place like this. I
love my little piece of heaven though I don't get to visit
it very often and so I identified with these words talking about an inner calm. Sometimes that is my saving grace.
Just to slow down and relax.
Thank you for the notes on the octogram. It seems you did a wonderful job with the form.
Blessings,
Maria C.

Brooke, your poem is simply divine. I know that secret place so well. I discovered it about two years ago when they sky seem to be falling down around me. You have described it so eloquently.

A lovely poem. I love the image, a secluded park bench. The browns are subtle and soothing, like a peaceful place should be.
I like the visuals, that sense of letting go of the rat race and the concerns... guess you've taken some time out of refreshing your page here on FS. It does a body good.
Thanks!

Such a calming and inviting poem, Brooke. Don't you wish everyone could slip into one of these places before they do anything that will harm themselves or others? Some time in their peaceful place to take the edge off ... would work so much better than what many use now.

I want my whole life to be the peaceful place, but it probably never will be. I'd love to have a place to get away from it all just like you describe. great job as always Brooke. Love, Joy

Your poem reminded me of what I have been trying to tell myself every day since I wrote that one story "Where Am I?" That day I was so overwhelmed realizing every person in my family expected me to do one thing or another for them...As you so clearly state, for my own sake, I need to let that last task slip by the way side and seek time to gather me back together..before I'm simply gone.
Excuse my ramblings..I enjoyed the poem very much and was wishing I was sitting on that bench. It's a difficult task.

hey Brooke
I believe this to be so valuable to millions of people all over the world
we all need to remember our own restoration in a place untouched by human hands
I particularly love the line a soul who welcomes quietude
have a smiley day
