Hello Brooke Glad you explained why the happiness I could see within your contest poem.

My goodness they had those kind of test kits back in your days
I know we didn't.
Let me say you poem is very original with it's theme

They went on the market in 1977 - I just looked it up - my daughter was born in 1982 :-) Thanks so much, Gert. Brooke

Well, well. Congrats, Grandma. This is so cute. As they didn't have piddle sticks in our day, at least not in mine, I had to wait for another month to find out if I was happy or not. I love it. How many grands will this make for you, if you care to tell. Happy day, pat

No, this is about when I became pregnant and then Miranda was a lifetime of glee - she is not pregnant, though that will be a happy day!! thanks, Pat. Brooke

oops, boy howdy, as Rhymeman would say, did I ever misread that! If I didn't know you so well, my face would be red clear down to my pointy little toes. Well, what can I say? :-) pat

quite a few people thought I was announcing my impending grandmotherhood! :-) I'm willing to write about my own peeing - I wouldn't embarrass my little one by writing about her peeing. LOLOLOL Brooke

Hi Brooke...this is such
a cute poem
and the picture is
wonderful
for the words.
"a lifetime of glee"
nothing could
more truth
than the
impending
birth of a
child.
Well done..
Good luck
in the contest

Yeah, sibling rivalry can be a pain. Wonderful sentiment in this fun little septolet. I loved the playful tone which you created by using the word "piddling". Nice flow, good form. I hope your daughter appreciates the cute poem.

Hugs,
Diane

This one is familiar. I did one just like it, only not quite as polite.

All human life is there is those few short lines. The anxiety of waiting and the joy of seen that blue line or plus sign knowing that your life is going to be changed forever.

Well out of the pen of a reflective poetess comes a joyful septolet on the joys of a woman who is quite pregnant- -Never having been I have heard about the pee test and the frequent piddling that can occur with pregnancy- -the picture is too, too much. Tall, olive skin and long dark straight hair :+) Well said in this joyful septolet- -the joys of motherhood are for a lifetime. I hope your Miranda is happy with her 'own' post.

Well, your septolet made this reader smile! Did you notice the text takes the general shape of a + ? And the second stanza almost looks like a drop. Good luck in the contest! Mary

Once again, you've come up with the goods, Brooke, with this cleverly constructed septolet. I was interested that you felt the need to explain 'piddle'. Here, in Dorset [Darset in the dialect], piddle means a small stream. We have a river named Piddle and Trent because it is a piddle in summer and a torrent in winter. I pray that Miranda will soon provide you with the sign that you will become a grandmother. Peter

I love the story about the stream's name - that is quaint and fascinating :-) Thanks so much, Peter. Brooke

LOL Brooke, very well written! You've well captured that moment when the plus sign appears and your heart lurches - either with joy or panic - usually a little of both!
Well written, very enjoyable.
Warmest wishes
Kat
