Brooke, this was beautiful, my friend. I really liked it a lot. Spring is my favorite. Waiting on the redbuds to bloom so I know I can find me a largemouth bass. lol

Now this took me on a journey away from my everyday life to someplace idyllic. I was transported to a world of dreamy nature and didn't want to leave. Very well written and presented, and thoroughly enjoyed. Excellent work!

I love the imagry and the way you used the names of the flowers to create it. I can just picture myself on that walk. Great job.

This poem is lovely and makes me yearn for the comforts that spring affords the soul - beautiful flowers and lovely fragrances and fanciful thoughts. Morning Glories are a favorite of mine and I plant them every year around our deck. Excellent visuals in this one. Blessings and have a great day, Linda

Beautiful! This is clever and unique. I love it.
I especially enjoyed these lines:
It led me to a flow'ry field
where silver bells tuned up,
You constantly amaze me with your awesome way of looking at things, Brooke. I love the imagery and the whimsical feel of many of your poems, and this one is no different.
Bravo. Standing O!

Brooke, this is a very peaceful poem. I liked it a lot.
You probably know better than I do, I get confused about times and sequences. You write of May apples and how they hide beneath the still larger leaves. But you also mention Queen Anne's Lace which I think of as an August, or later summer flower. By that time, the apples can hide behind the tree's leaves about as well as Adam and Eve hid behind fig leaves. It doesn't really bother me, and, as I think about it, spanning spring and summer with apples and flowers might be a good thing. It could point to the possibility of a
"morning glory morning
of a honeysuckle day"
and consequent stroll occurring in more than one season.
In any case, I enjoyed the poem. Great job.

Steve, I'm talking about a low lying plant called mayapples, not apples in a tree. As for the timing of them with queen anne's lace, I'm not sure. I'll have to see if queen anne's lace can be around earlier than August, but even if it's not accurate, it's staying. LOL thanks so much :-) Brooke

I was right. You do know more about these matters than I know.

Hi Brooke,
This is so vivid and descriptive. It tells a sweet story too-- paints a picture. My favorite is the opening and closing paragraph-
On a morning glory morning
of a honeysuckle day,
this country path was kind enough
to guide me on my way.
