Very patriotic and a nice post for the contest for sure. For young people who have no recollection of Vietnam, this is probably the most 'vivid' event ever witnessed that underscores the lengths to which our enemies are willing to reach.

A well penned poem about the tragedy of 9-11 as well as a wonderful country, and aptly titled "strong enough to bend".
The world was shocked or maybe that is not a strong enough word; horrified at what took place on that fateful day, which lives on in our minds. With what is going on in the world right now, it's as if 9-11 was a precursor to all of this.
But, as you say so eloquently,
The Star-Spangled Banner flies high above it all.
There ain't no way this Country for you will ever fall.
Your days of all this darkness will never come again.
America is ready and she's strong enough to bend
Well done.

Your poem undoubtedly raises patriotic feelings. Recalling the terrible events of 9/11/2001, you have expressed passionately the spirit of invincibility that the world has since witnessed.

Beautiful, hopeful poem. Your rhyming and rhythm is very good and the words flow smoothly. No forced words to make a rhyme. This is the kind of poem that brings out the patriotic spirit in everyone. At least in everyone that loves America. God bless us all.

Congratulations on writing such a fine patriotic song. It needs to be set to music--seems to have a strong country style and message that would appeal to country music lovers. Excellent rhyme. Wonderful description of the 9/11 attack. "Woken up the spirit" is a great line, and that really did happen after the attacks. Unfortunately, that didn't seem to last. You send a challenge that I wish our leaders would send--"There ain't no way you'll ever run this country in the ground." 'Strong enough to bend" has a great sound to it. Add a sixth star to that patriotic mix, and best of luck in the contest. judi

Excellent Poem! I loved this poem - it brought back so memories of New York City. I lived on Long Island on 9/11.
The author's words are strong, descriptive, heart felt and creative. The poem is thought provoking and the reader will never forgot. The artwork is perfect and symbolizes the theme of this poem.
