There are a lot of things I would like to see disappear. But one of them is certainly not fall. This is an excellent poetic presentation that I found to be well written and pleased to have read and enjoyed... John

I love the crispness and beauty of fall and I love this poem. There is a lovely flow and sincerety to your words. I especially love this verse:

"A pumpkin, like a harvest moon,
will grow on my imagined vine --
if summer ever fails to leave,
this autumn scene will still be mine"

Truly enjoyable!

Warmly,
Kailey ox

This is another imaginative piece from the master of creative ideas and perfect execution! I never considered not having seasons, but it WOULD happen if you moved far enough toward the tropics! Those folks don't know what they're missing! :)

I enjoyed your rhyming quatrains, a contemplation on the question What would I think or do if fall were to disappear?

After a complex set of contemplations which include 'summer heat', 'pumpkins', and 'cornucopias', the answer is that the poet would dream of autumn, even if the world were to remain green all year.

Sounds logical to me.

Good luck with the voting elves.

Cheers,
DW

This is lovely. If we didn't have fall, we'd have to imagine it. Dream of the gold leaves, the flocks of geese, the pumpkins. You last two lines are great: "I'll dream of autumn, crisp and clear/ although the world stays ever green. Our seasons aren't like they used to be. We didn't have the beautiful foliage this year. And no sign of snow yet. Your rhyme and flow are beautiful, and the imagery is great. judi

Wonderfully descriptive, this poem really brings me inside your love for fall. How could we go on without it, other than with such vivid memories as you have of the season.

I feel sure you could reconstruct Autumn. There is no Fall in the Middle East. There are no wild richly ornate trees of red and gold except in someone's garden. We are dependent on you to display it for us. We barely enjoy a winter anymore. I last saw snow in Jerusalem, twenty years ago. What is the world coming to. At least we still have our imagination. Merry Xmas. -Ekim777

This is a lovely poem. It flows nicely and you use a lot of imagery. The image you chose goes well with your poem. Let's hope Fall never disappears!
