This is deeply touching and filled with so much love it almost made me cry. This is a marvelous poem and despite almost making me cry, it also made me smile. Excellent work with this one.

Very wonderful and sweet poem. I am sure all of us mother's have thought similar thoughts as we watched our infants sleep. Only you have been blessed with the ability to put words to the thoughts. This poem flowed very smoothly

This is a beautiful poem. It can't fail but please. It's sentiments brought out the mothering instinct in me as I guess it will with a lot of your readers. A lovely poem.

This is an absolutely lovely poem Brooke. All three verses go down like warm cognac - the expensive kind! These lines (and the entire third verse) are particularly beautiful:
May fairies weave with golden thread
a web that captures tears you've shed
Wondeful job and thank you for sharing.
Warmest regards,
-Lee

Thank you, Lee - this is most generous of you :-) I don't drink, but I will take your word for it that expensive warm cognac is quite the compliment! LOL I appreciate your most gracious comments :-) Brooke

Just lovely, Brooke. It's been awhile since I've reviewed you and this Rondeau tugged at my heartstrings. By the way, this is not a fluff five review. I think your poem genuinely deserves five stars. I like the repeating line of "sleep well, sweet child."
Yours,
Jenny *smile*

Thank you, Jenny - I'm so glad you enjoyed this gentle lullaby - it is good to hear from you :-) I am not someone who spends nearly as much time worrying about fluff fives as some!! LOL And I would certainly never think that of you :-) Brooke

I'm glad that you wouldn't think it of me, however I feel that the general consensus is that anyone who rewards a writer a five star review without practically writing a 500 word essay is giving a fluff five these days. As you can tell, I'm quite frustrated.
-
Though, funnily enough, I don't see any of those people fretting about such stuff turning down the five star reviews they receive. LOL
-
They most certainly don't.

Should be over every newborn crib. This is a beautiful poem that should be sent to Hallmark so they can put it on a plaque. I'll bet it would be a best seller. Well done.

weet, beautiful, endearing, and a real heartfelt poem of a soft, cuddly baby that the whole world is in love with but, only a mother understands as much as your poem expressed. A very good job of expressing this thought. Tony

There's those little faires again! And what a sweet poem it is. I could smell the baby powder and feel the warm softness of a newborn's skin all tucked up in that lovely photograph. I liked your poem grandmama - are we getting clucky in our senior years? Blessings.

Sleep well, sweet child... I feel that the idea of fairies, fairy dust, sprites, rose petals surrounding a child in slumber is very appropriate to the form and mood of a rondeau. And the sight of a sleeping child is the most peaceful sight, especially for a mother who has had a weary day. (Sometimes I also believe that a fairy guards babies especially newborns. Why else do they sometimes smile in their sleep?) Soothing and 'melodious' rondeau!

Thank you, Belinda - my firstborn was NOT a sleeper - that is, unless I was holding him - so I KNOW how beautiful the sight of a sleeping baby can be. LOL When my daughter came along and WAS a sleeper, my love just spilled over for her. :-) Thanks so much. Brooke
