This is so enchanting a little story, and so beautifully told in perfect rhyme and meter. I wish I could score the whole instead of breaking it into three, but I'm going to score it as it is posted, and this is a perfect "second chapter" to what I've already read. Looking forward to the last...

Thank you, MissMerri. Sorry about having to break it down into three, but I'm posting as I write and it takes forever to do two verses :-) Brooke

Oh my, Brooke, the imagery with this second part is even more spectacular than the first. Your description of the wedding party made me smile and see it all like it was being performed before me...buttermilk lace organza...how wonderful!

Thank you, Karyn, and good morning! Glad you liked the details - you wouldn't believe how much time I spent trolling google for articles on lace. LOL Brooke

A really special and colorful spectacle
this appears to be. All guests coming
from all quarters to witness such a fine
and enjoyable day free from all the
usual fears, everyone able to let
their hair down - so to speak.
The picture you paint here Brooke
is so strong and I can visualize
the three chapters together in a book.
Very well done it sings off the page...

Hi Brooke:)
The magic continues on this wonderful day of woodland peace as the wedding vows seal the love of fairy bride and groom. I liked every easy flowing line, but if I must choose my favorites, I think it is:
Each maiden wore a frock of spider's silk
that shimmered in the gleaming sun's caress,
but none outshone the bride in buttermilk,
organza lace and pearls upon her dress.
What could conjure more vivid and exciting mental images? I'll be watching for part3. I still wish I had more stars left to give.

This was wonderful as well. One thing I don't quite understand is the end of the second stanza, the predator or prey part, but then I can be a bit dense at times. Other than that, it flowed bery well. I think the imagery was even better in this part than the prior one. Excellent rhymes, good story progression. Very nice job.

Thanks, Diane. The section about predator and prey is based on the concept of the Peaceable Kingdom - when the lion sleeps with the lamb. Brooke :-)

I love, love, love this section and especially: "Each maiden wore a frock of spider's silk
that shimmered in the gleaming sun's caress,
but none outshone the bride in buttermilk,
organza lace and pearls upon her dress."
And it all ends with the lion lying down with the lamb and peace as far as you can see. Just absolutely beautiful! I look forward to Part III. Maryellen
