When roosters crow and cats chase mice,
while Grandpa tells the kids a yarn,
as life is lived in every way,
does God reside within the barn?

I am SO glad that you got Grandpa in there! He adds to the nostalgic, family-view of the scene. Again, as you do so well, you paint the scene, and fill it with children, animals, Grandpa, and God.

It's a good question that you pose. Does God reside in the barn? business? house? Or does He stop at the door, and let whatever will happen, happen?

I like to think that He is everywhere. It gives a warm fuzzy feeling.
well done

I like to think He is everywhere too - I just don't think he micro-manages :-) Thanks so much, Brooke

I really like this one Brooke. The Quatern is a difficult style to write; keeping to the rules and still managing to have a consistant rythmn and build a scene or story that ties in with the dominant line.

It was a very pensive piece and enjoyable read, with the colour choices and picture adding the final touches to a lovely poem. Great job, regards, Jan

Hello Brooke what a wonderful philospy poem for all to read.
And I can just picture a child hearing your poem about God and the animals what an unique idea
does, God live in a barn

Love how the beginning line and ending line are exactly the same, asking such an important question. I enjoyed a delightful time with you in the barn among the horses, leaping and laughing children, Grandpa, cats, roosters, cows, and, most important - God.

Thank you for a very satisfying read, Brooke.
Love,
ellen

Brooke,
This is a creative poem about life on the farm and God. God is everywhere! How great is that?!
I like how you move the repeating line throughout the poem, another way of showing how God can be everywhere.
Great colors and presentation, your poem blending with the heavens!
Thanks for sharing this with me.

Thank you, Nadine - I think you're the first one to notice how the repeating line of the quatern works well here to show God's presence because of its movement down the verse. Brooke

God resides everywhere. He resides in the hearts of the good. He resides in the hearts of the heartless, though they may not know it. He resides in our homes. And yes, He resides in our barns.

An enjoyable read that makes me stop to consider your words here. This has a very strong rhythm that moves well and I especially liked the refrain line you chose. Works very well in this piece. Nicely done.

Hullo Adewpearl ....

And the answer is 'Yes!' God is everywhere.
This is a beautiful poem with so many colourful and descriptive words and phrases that you have provided
clear and vivid imagery for your readers.
I specially like your description of children jumping from the bales of hay and Grandpa telling them stories.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
With love from ... Nanette Mary.
