This is a delightful take on a labor day. Sort of like a 'honey-do' list. It was fun to read, and I see that he called about that job after all.

You miss a couple of quotation marks -
"Well...I have. There's an ad in today's paper.
"Hello...eh...I'm interested in that job you got."

I like this article it's very amusing and in some cases true.
I especially liked the way it ran. Meaning much and saying little
It seems the two people understand each other very well and can say things that matter without anger setting in. Anyone who reads this will get the gist of it
and have a smile.

That'll learn him huh? I enjoyed reading your poem, if in fact it is a poem. It seemed to me more like a dialogue only peice of writing.
The dialogue is good. Best wishes. Jen.

It's a nice humorous look at how hypocritical we can be; avoiding work ourselves, but expecting others to not miss a beat. Nice word play in the dialogue between husband and wife creates some nice musical effects along with the counterpoint manipulation. And in the end, he decides to get that job, to keep the hot meals from his wife coming. estory

A very well-written humorous poem for labor day. A day for workers to relax for the day and not go to their usual work. Men are working on their wives' nerves haning around keeping the wives away from their usual routine.

Very light hearted and humorous. I adore serious, emotive poetry, even that which is painful in its rawness, but I also like a good giggle now and then and this was perfect. I can imagine my grandparents having a similar discussion. They do love to bicker! Thanks for sharing x

This was very amusing. I always wondered how "holidays" always end up being more work than any other day of the week for the ones who cook, clean up and entertain. A wife and mother are never truly "retired," that's for sure! All the best, Ann Marie
