You wrote a good western thriller that took us (readers) all on a journey or should I say your journey. I enjoyed reading it. It was interesting and entertaining. It flows and rhymes well.

I did wonder if you were going to find yourself part of a Hollywood movie or a spaghetti western. The lovely iambic heptameters kept puffing along and of course your love in the US Cavalry, Big John Wayne no doubt, came charging up to carry you off.

There is no harm in dreaming especially if it is done in perfect iambics.
