Hi Barbara, plenty of action going on in this chapter. You've still got 100 pages to go. This is a long novel.
Two little gremlins for you:
sun that peaked [peeked] over the horizon.
The second man fell to the floor, as the third man wrestled Joe to the floor.
(floor twice in short succession)

Sometimes it's hard to come into the middle of a novel, but your characters and storyline are engaging, and I found myself lost in the story. There are so many stories here that I want to read completely, and I hope I'm able to finish reading yours. Good work.

Hi Barbara,
Good tense ending to this chapter part, I guess its going to be touch and go for the next one though, there are still a few too many baddies unaccounted for.

I could picture the scene clearly.

Barb, sounds like we're getting close to the end. Great chapter, but I was a little confused with the "fell to the floor" right after shots were fired. Apparently they didn't get hit(?) Had to re-read about two men dragging Joe off because I thought there were only three men and the second one down (fell to the floor). Apparently Derek didn't get hit(?).
Anyhow, waiting for your chemo "story".
Love your story. Your characters are the greatest. pat

Thank you earlier in the chapter I said there were 8 men in the house and 3 girls.

Oh my God! I loved this thrills-a-minute narrative in this chapter. We know this is a romantic story, but in this chapter there is a lot of good suspense about the kidnapping. Thanks for the author note, we keep our praying for your total recovery.

A cliff hanger chapter for sure...geez. I think your dual love/crime genre here is great Barb. You sure have the parallels going really well. Exciting and tense too. Hope you are feeling okay! Oh yes, the biggest one probably...little madame' is sitting here, watching me type, trying to get me to get the Fancy Feast going! So happy to hear from you Miss Barbara!
