Beautiful, the background color and the picture helped me imagine that peaceful place...rest for a busy and tired soul. Thank you for the lesson on Octogram that you gave.:) SISKA

Brooke,

This is a most excellent reflective octogram! Just reading your title gave me peace. How important it is for us to step aside from the hurriedness of life and take time to reflect and be still. You have captured that so well in this poem.

Your first stanza is exceptionally smooth and well composed. I also enjoyed your thoughts in the second stanza as well.

Linda

Another good one, my friend, and one to which I can relate on many levels. To leave the chase and slow the pace in order to maintain a growth inspiring peaceful place in life is my New Year's resolution and to see you put a like sentiment in verse delights me. You really utilized Sally's new form beautifully here IMHO...the flow is superb and the rhymes fresh and satisfying.

Great poem.

Thank you, I need to tack this one on the wall right now. Every word is being absorbed as I read over and over. I need the quite.

A truly appreciated penning at the most needed moment.

Thanks again.

I'm guessing that your peaceful park bench is covered in snow, Brooke. We all need a break. This poems says to me to slow down, take a deep breath and try to escape if even for only a few minutes to a place inside yourself for some quiet solitude.

Thank you, Tony. Right now we only have the slightest coating of snow on the grass - hopefully it can stay that way for at least a week. :-) Brooke

To me, these three lines shine far, above and beyond the rest:

Tranquility will not elude
a soul who welcomes quietude.
I've made my choice and left the chase --

Super stuff. Reads like a proverb. :)

Dear Brooke,
There is something about the structure of the octogram that makes it seem ideal for reflective thoughts such as you have so charmingly developed here. Sally certainly did something wonderful when she developed this format.

Brooke,

This is so nicely written. I can't believe you can write so well, because you have to be real busy with all the reviewing you do.

Shhh! I am so jealous, but also very happy for you.

I totally loved this, and I hope you have a really outstanding year. Blessings!

The poem goes well while I'm reading and reviewing listening to Celine Dion. The theme of peace and solitude is running through the Fanstory neighborhood of late. Did I miss the note being passed around? I did however without notice write a lonely poem. If you haven't read it yet, get a tissue. Mike

Mike, I am off to read your lonely poem. Right now I am feeling so so so sad, so I'll be in the mood for it - Dallas is humiliating my team!!! I could use some Celine Dion about now. Brooke :-)

For that reason along I don't watch sports any more, remember we have the Browns and the Indians. How much sadder can a person get if he loved the sport. Wait now I have to get a tissue. Mike
